Best cheesesteak I’ve ever had, including the many I’ve had in Philly. We got the Philly Philly cheesesteak, and the Cooper mixed with homemade whiz was so flavorful. Tons of juicy ribeye on a perfect roll. My son loved the chicken cutlet sandwich as well.

Gratefully surprised. Reading, Pa has tons of great food- Philadelphia style sandwiches are not traditionally found in the area. JD’s has absolutely accomplished this! The cheesesteak, Chicken cutlet both very good! Service was fantastic and prices were great.

Best place in BERKS to get a cheesesteak. I got 2. 1 to eat there 2nd I order to go to have at home for tomorrow! The one I ate today was the bomb diggity! 10/10……15/10. They give you the option if.you want seeded or Unseeded! I hate that places give you no option for that. I hate a steak sandwich with a seeded roll. Biggest turnoff for me is not allowing me to have Unseeded roll. The cheese to meat ratio is krazy fantastic! I got the dazed and confused and the double play. The double play…… oh my!!!! That jawn was hitting the spot! Def best in berks. I would say best outside of philly and arguably best in PA. I was born in philly trust me I know a thing or two about cheesesteaks. If I had to say something negative about the post it would just be i didnt like the cheese wiz for the fries… but I came for the steaks them jawns was hitting!!!

Brought my family of 5 for the first time and it was incredible!! Kids were happy with their Chicken Fingers and Fries meal with an apple juice and the JD’s Mini Steak with the same on the side! For the cheesesteaks, we went with the Kicked Up Philly Philly and the Dazed and Confused and let me tell you… out of this world good! The fresh cut fries come out the way Five Guys only wishes they could be: Piled high and tasting amazing. 11/10, will absolutely be back! (Pictured is the Kicked Up Philly Philly )

Keeping in mind these berks natives think cheesesteaks automatically come with sauce and onions (amateurs), this cheesesteak is very good for the area. Liscio’s rolls and cooper sharp of course. However Tony’s of West Reading still holds the first place spot. Dining room is very nice with cool Philly sports memorabilia for sale. Not sure of the complaints about price. $15 is the price point for a better cheesesteak. So if you want to sit and eat and/or avoid the rudeness of Tony’s and his staff, this is a great choice.

I got the Kicked Up Philly Philly. Solid Cheesesteak! The cheese to onion to long hots to steak ratio was on point!! Excellent seeded roll. The Hot Pepper Cooper Whiz…*chefs kiss*. Not sure I want any other kind of cheese on my cheesesteak now! Will definitely be back to try more off the menu! Great shop with excellent decor! GO BIRDS !! Keep it up!

Great cheesesteak! Came from New York and I must say it was delicious. Only thing I didn’t like was I came in with my service dog and they quickly said he couldn’t be on the floor. Dogs are pretty much humans nowadays and welcoming dogs into any business would be a plus. Overall experience was great. The sesame seeds hit different !

Wowwwwwww! I can’t believe it took us this long to try this place. I got the veggie. My husband had the original. Our minds were blown. So much flavor in Both sandwiches well worth the cost because we brought Half of them home. Two meals = good deal in our book. Also got a pastallilo to put in the air fryer tomorrow. The young lady behind the counter was incredibly kind. they were about to throw out the day old bread so we walked out with five seeded rolls.
