TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I enjoy the food at this restaurant and appreciate the way the dishes are presented. However, I am very disappointed with the service. The staff seem poorly trained — I requested my order to go, but it was marked as dine-in on the receipt. Additionally, some employees speak very loudly while communicating with each other, which makes the environment uncomfortable. Considering the portion size and overall quality, the prices also feel quite high.

I Drove about an hour to just try Dave’s Hot Chicken is next-level delicious. From the moment you walk in, the smell alone tells you you’re in for something amazing. The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, unbelievably juicy on the inside, and seasoned with that signature heat that hits just right—flavorful, not just spicy.

The chicken was amazing, high quality. The sauce=addicting (although my only complaint is they need to provide more of it). Nice crispy French fries with plenty of seasoning. Clean dining area, and lastly, the staff here was SO friendly and high energy. Can’t wait to come back soon. I’ll be requesting double extra sauce.

Tried Dave’s Hot Chicken for the first time!
As soon as you walk in, you’re smacked in the face with that heavy fried oil smell—not terrible, but definitely noticeable . I got Dave’s #3: mild spicy chicken slider + tenders. The slider was decent—good flavor, but not something I’d write home about. The fries? Surprisingly the MVP. Crispier and more satisfying than the chicken, honestly. The creamy sauce on the slider was nice, just didn’t blow me away. Overall, worth trying once to see what the hype’s about—but I wouldn’t be lining up again anytime soon.

Food was pretty good, a bit overpriced for what you get. Spicy levels just seem to be more or less of the stuff they toss it in. I tried both hot and extra hot. It was flavorful and not just hot.. But the flavor was almost sweet, salty, and spicy.. Hard to explain. Fries were great. Employees were all top notch, service was impressive. Only one bathroom though.

Even though it was very busy, it was organized well and we didn’t wait for our food for too long! I was impressed.
The food was delicious. Fries were just salty enough and crispy, tenders and the sliders had very well seasoned juicy chicken. We had four different levels for spice, and you could tell the difference between each level pretty clearly.
We enjoyed it a lot and hope they will continue to do well.

The food was good,except the mac and cheese was literally soup with a few noodles in it. The flavor was like sad watered down kraft soup with elbow noodles. Definitely pass on it.
The slider was good! And the pile of pickles was an amazing touch. We got mild and medium, neither had any spice at all so it’s a good starting point for people who can’t handle as much spice. I’ll be going up a level or two next time.
