A great place to get a great meal
Shah’s Halal Food in Manassas is tucked beside Harris Teeter off Prince William Parkway.
The chain began in 2005 as a single food cart in Richmond Hill, Queens, New York. According to a sign on the wall of the restaurant, it was launched by a family determined to serve authentic, halal street food made from their family recipes. That lone cart exploded in popularity, leading to the first brick-and-mortar store in 2016 and rapid franchising. As of late 2025, Shah’s now has over 120 locations across the U.S. This particular spot is small—very limited seating, just a few chairs. It looks like most people grab and go. Inside, it’s spotless and the staff is genuinely warm and welcoming. The assembly-line setup lets you watch everything happen: pick your protein (chicken, lamb, combo), point to toppings, and decide how much of that famous white sauce and hot sauce you dare. The portions are massive; one platter or gyro combo easily stretches into two full meals. Most importantly, the food is outstanding. I got the combo (lamb and chicken) with a lot of the white sauce. It was delicious and, like I sad above, I made it into 2 meals with chicken one time and lamb the other time. I highly recommend this place for the food, the price, and the staff.

I noticed that the chicken wings were burnt, suggesting they might have been cooked in old oil. This made it difficult for me to enjoy the meal.
On another occasion, the chicken wings had an unpleasant smell reminiscent of Clorox, which was off-putting.
To improve the dining experience, I recommend always using fresh cooking oil, as it can significantly enhance the quality of the food. With these changes, I believe the chicken wings can be much better.
Since the owner replied and used kind words, I changed my rating to 4*+

First, I want to say that the service was great- the managers were very attentive and friendly. He constantly made sure to check on the status of my order and make sure I was comfortable. When I went at 4:00 it wasn’t too busy, but there was a steady flow of customers picking up orders. The food was delightful! Flavorful, a lot of chicken, and the rice was super good! I’m so happy a good halal food place has opened up. Will definitely be returning.

I have always given 5 star to this restaurant but this time and in the future I am not sure if I will be able to do so. The quantity and the quality have been great always but this time it was totally a disappointment. There was a new lady at the store, I think she is not aware of the quality and the quantity that shah’s halal maintains. Every time I order the container was full with food every inch and it’s hard to finish it all for me but this time the quantity was so poor that I had to eat some cookies after this for dinner. I didn’t order through uber eats because I can understand they don’t provide the same portion for delivery because there is a bogo promotion going on. So I went there driving 12 miles and still got this disappointment. One advice to the owner would be, please whoever you guys are hiring train them and educate them properly about the quality and quantity of your food. As it’s the first time, so i’d like to give them a chance. Thanks.

I’ve ordered from here or picked up food from here at least 20 times. I ordered on door dash buy one get one free and went to pick it up. I was given one platter and I asked the staff member why it was only one when I ordered the deal. He said he can’t give me another one because it’s door dashs fault and problem. He didn’t care at all. I even showed him my order. He said take it up with door dash and wouldn’t make me another one. I’ve dealt with plenty of great staff here and this guy was a jerk. They wouldn’t resolve anything or care about my business even though I’ve been here tons.
Shame it’s going down hill. I’ll take my business to their competitor if they don’t care.
