The beet salad was very different from what we had in Greece and barely had any beets, mostly mandarin oranges and arugula. I ordered the “authentic” gyro platter, which was decent, but the meat had more of a ground or meatball texture instead of being shaved like a traditional gyro. The fries and tzatziki were both very good, and my husband’s chicken souvlaki was tasty, just not like what we remembered from Greece.
We don’t mind paying for a great meal, but the value wasn’t really there. Just over $100 for two people without drinks felt expensive, especially considering the flavor and authenticity. On top of that, there was both a corkage fee and a credit card fee (and honestly, who pays with cash these days?).
The manager was very kind and explained that beets in the U.S. are different from the ones in Greece, which I appreciated. Still, we were really hoping for that true Greek dining experience, and this just didn’t quite deliver. Maybe Greece is still too fresh in our minds, but it didn’t hit the same.
I order everything I love because I know my leftovers will be just as tasty the next day. Don’t pass on this restaurant!!!! The wait time for take out was minimal!! Less than 15 minutes for pick up!!!!
DELISH.
Hope you will be serving this community for many many years!!!!!
We sat outside and received wonderful service from both our waitress and the bussers—attentive without ever feeling rushed. The owner even came by after our meal to check in, which was such a lovely and personal touch. You could feel his genuine appreciation for every guest.
We ordered a spread: the shrimp lejon, grilled octopus, spanakopita, zucchini chips, and chicken souvlaki skewers with rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Dubai chocolate dessert was a standout—rich, decadent, and beautifully presented. I’m still thinking about the baklava I didn’t order, which just means we’ll have to come back soon.
We brought our own prosecco, and they kindly provided a free-standing ice bucket without us even needing to ask. The entire experience felt elevated but relaxed, and we’ll definitely be returning.
Check came with 2 little surprises: $5 corkage fee.. for a BYOB? Credit card surcharge of 3%+..
Overall good experience
From start to finish, Myrtoe delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and authenticity.
We started with the octopus and falafel, both of which were exceptional. The octopus was perfectly tender with a charred finish that added depth, while the falafel was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and beautifully seasoned.
For our mains, we had the chicken kabab and the rack of lamb — and wow. The chicken was juicy, marinated to perfection, and grilled just right. The lamb was tender, rich, and cooked flawlessly, with every bite melting in our mouths.
We couldn’t resist dessert and were so glad we didn’t. The baklava was flaky and sweet with just the right amount of spice, and the ek-mek kataife was a revelation — creamy, crunchy, and not too heavy, the perfect ending to our meal.
To top it all off, our server Lisa was absolutely amazing. Attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and our experience — she made the evening even more memorable.
If you’re looking for a spot that blends heartwarming hospitality with truly exceptional Greek cuisine, Myrtoe is it. Can’t wait to come back!
