We were really excited to try Myrtos, especially after being in Greece a couple months ago. We absolutely loved the food there, so we were looking forward to having some authentic Greek cuisine nearby. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to our expectations.

The beet salad was very different from what we had in Greece and barely had any beets, mostly mandarin oranges and arugula. I ordered the “authentic” gyro platter, which was decent, but the meat had more of a ground or meatball texture instead of being shaved like a traditional gyro. The fries and tzatziki were both very good, and my husband’s chicken souvlaki was tasty, just not like what we remembered from Greece.

We don’t mind paying for a great meal, but the value wasn’t really there. Just over $100 for two people without drinks felt expensive, especially considering the flavor and authenticity. On top of that, there was both a corkage fee and a credit card fee (and honestly, who pays with cash these days?).

The manager was very kind and explained that beets in the U.S. are different from the ones in Greece, which I appreciated. Still, we were really hoping for that true Greek dining experience, and this just didn’t quite deliver. Maybe Greece is still too fresh in our minds, but it didn’t hit the same.

You can’t go wrong with Myrtis delicacies!!! My first experience was eating in house. My second experience was take out. 10/10 on both!!!! The feta is soooo good and everything is freshly made. The zucchini chips, gyro platter, dolmades and spanakopita are my go to’s weather I’m eating in house or getting it for take out!!!!
I order everything I love because I know my leftovers will be just as tasty the next day. Don’t pass on this restaurant!!!! The wait time for take out was minimal!! Less than 15 minutes for pick up!!!!
DELISH.
Hope you will be serving this community for many many years!!!!!

We came to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. Our server Molly was very informative and her recommendations were SPOT on. The food was unbelievable. We started with the charred octopus and it was phenomenal, the sauce, the texture, and the accoutrements were perfect. We took Mollys recommendation and got the rack of lamb as one of our entrees and it was hands down one of the best we’ve ever tried. The desserts are chefs kiss!! So tasty. The restaurant is super clean, the staff is super friendly, we will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

Several vegan options and the team is great with ensuring there’s no cross-contamination. Amazing food. Highly recommend the dolmadas and the kolokithokeftedes for appetizers. Big portions and great food, all from scratch.

We ordered takeout and went to pick it up 1/2 the order wasn’t even made, the rest got ice cold while they made the missing food. We get home and many of the ingredients were missing compared to the menu. The steak said it came with lemon potatoes (THE reason I wanted to get food from here!) when they put French fries under the steak in a plastic container, totally soggy and inedible. This establishment has a lot of potential…. However, this is the second poor experience we had, I don’t think we will return for a third.

This place is a gem in Downingtown. Now they have a patio with a pergola that has automated louvres. Just the choice of including menu items like Black Cod (chat that) from the Pacific NW, and a Dubai Chocolate inspired dessert on the menu is a signal that this place is high-quality. Try it for lunch or date night. You’ll go here because it’s good and local, and not just to support a great owner who really cares about quality and service. #fresh #healthy #quality

We had a fantastic experience at Myrtos! The space is beautiful—warm, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. They were incredibly accommodating, setting us up with a larger table for just the two of us since we love to order a variety of appetizers and needed the room for all the plates (which were absolutely worth it).

We sat outside and received wonderful service from both our waitress and the bussers—attentive without ever feeling rushed. The owner even came by after our meal to check in, which was such a lovely and personal touch. You could feel his genuine appreciation for every guest.

We ordered a spread: the shrimp lejon, grilled octopus, spanakopita, zucchini chips, and chicken souvlaki skewers with rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Dubai chocolate dessert was a standout—rich, decadent, and beautifully presented. I’m still thinking about the baklava I didn’t order, which just means we’ll have to come back soon.

We brought our own prosecco, and they kindly provided a free-standing ice bucket without us even needing to ask. The entire experience felt elevated but relaxed, and we’ll definitely be returning.

Refreshing new to me restaurant! Clean, classy and well thought out! Menu has lots of choices and options for most everyone, including kids choices. Server was professional and attentive, timing was right on.. Calamari appetizer was delicious! Main course looked fantastic, but both of our dinners were lukewarm and my broccolini was cold They did heat it up without a problem, but then my shrimp was a little rubbery.. tasty all the same and I would return. Gelato dessert was creamy and delicious, Nutella dessert was sensational!
Check came with 2 little surprises: $5 corkage fee.. for a BYOB? Credit card surcharge of 3%+..
Overall good experience

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience

From start to finish, Myrtoe delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and authenticity.

We started with the octopus and falafel, both of which were exceptional. The octopus was perfectly tender with a charred finish that added depth, while the falafel was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and beautifully seasoned.

For our mains, we had the chicken kabab and the rack of lamb — and wow. The chicken was juicy, marinated to perfection, and grilled just right. The lamb was tender, rich, and cooked flawlessly, with every bite melting in our mouths.

We couldn’t resist dessert and were so glad we didn’t. The baklava was flaky and sweet with just the right amount of spice, and the ek-mek kataife was a revelation — creamy, crunchy, and not too heavy, the perfect ending to our meal.

To top it all off, our server Lisa was absolutely amazing. Attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and our experience — she made the evening even more memorable.

If you’re looking for a spot that blends heartwarming hospitality with truly exceptional Greek cuisine, Myrtoe is it. Can’t wait to come back!
