Reviews
We ordered oysters and once they were put on the table I noticed right away they looked butchered but we still ate them. First one was good and every one after that had fragments of shell in it and we couldn’t finish them. The last one I tried tasted very off to the point I worry I may get sick.
We said something and the manager handled it very well and took the charger off of our bill which isn’t what we worried about it was about the quality for the cost.
We both ordered the rib eye steaks and I got mushrooms with it at an extra cost of $6 which I kid you not was canned mushrooms and was the equivalent of one mushroom that I received. We didn’t say anything since the oyster issued but it was shocking. The steaks weren’t bad and the drinks were delicious but giving this our second experience we didn’t walk away happy I’m not sure I will go back or at least order anything I may be disappointed with.
I think this place had so much potential and I want to see it succeed.
Lounge 33 is situated in a smaller former tobacco town, I reserve seating. I did not have to wait at all when I got there.
Prices seem average in a very good way
It’s going to cost a little bit more than some of the other local restaurants, but they’re also not competing for a sort of the same tier
Food was excellent and absolutely no quality issues. Everything looked very clean very well presented. Everything seemed to be cooked very properly.
I ordered a rare New York steak and it was very properly rare not overcooked in anyway I found that over the years steak is an excellent determinant factor in the overall abilities of the kitchen under stress.
What I recommend to go here again ?
Yes, certainly it’s overall just a very well run well managed restaurant.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Nice touch being open for breakfast now too! Also, a great spot to go before a show in the Capitol 33 venue!
Totally worth the money and our server Josh was top notch.
The waiter came and offered compensation on the mistake made and made up for it completely.
8/10 recommend for an occasional date.
Made reservations for 5 of us to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I anticipated being sat in the dining room, but we were sat in the bar area, which isn’t my favourite place to sit when coming to a fine dining restaurant.
The atmosphere was great. Staff were very friendly, but the food….not good.
This was our second time coming. First time was October 31st. My husband wanted the venison steak. He ordered and half an hour later was told it was unavailable. We ordered 12 oysters they came after our meal, were tiny and still a bit frozen? Not sure if they’re frozen, but they definitely weren’t fresh. That meal was just over $200.
So this time, he tried ordering it again and again, it was unavailable. Why have it on the menu? He decided on fish and chips, for his birthday meal
My mother in law ordered the scallops….subpar. No bigger than a nickel for 6 scallops and were $30/plate.
My husband’s fish was burnt and couldn’t eat it. I ordered the New York strip with a loaded potato. My steak was just warm and potato wasn’t cooked, basically raw.
Our son ordered the lobster rolls. They were cold, very fishy tasting and served on basically a hot dog bun. Maybe if the bun was a little toasted, it would have made a world of difference.
Total cost for our table was just over $350! Which I would have absolutely no issues paying for a phenomenal meal, but this was very disappointing.
**EDIT**
Capital 33 cares about their customers!
After receiving my recent review, Joanne went above and beyond to make things right.
She hand delivered a nice fresh venison steak for my husband, a ribeye steak for myself, as well as all the fixings.
This was extremely thoughtful, and very generous!
We will be back, and support their small business.
