It doesn’t get better then Tejas Birria , everything is delicious , fairly priced and consistent. Ive gotten it more than i can admit only once was it not as good as usual but it happens.
My favorite is the tacos , they are packed with flavor. I would like to shake the owners hand and tell them good work.
My delivery order has always came correct and quick , i noticed they have drinks they don’t offer on delivery , which is too bad i would like to order them.
That said these appear to be pretty traditional birria. The Birria taco takes stewed meat, stuffs it in two corn tortillas, soaks that in the broth, and then pan fries it all till it’s a firm bundle of lots of protein and a little corn tortilla.
You dip it in the broth again to soften it up, and I dose it with onions and cilantro as well as sour cream.
We ordered ahead as recommended on another review because we were on a tight timeline for a rare visit to Austin. All was ready save the finishing touch of ladling hot broth.
Seating is covered but outdoor, and this is essentially a food truck/trailer. Also, it’s next to a drive in and a couple of other food trucks, none of which were open when we went for our late lunch.
The portion sizes are generous, so you’ll leave full and happy. Don’t forget to order a refreshing agua fresca. Its light, sweet flavor perfectly balances the richness of the tacos
If you’re craving authentic birria that’s cheesy, meaty, and downright irresistible, this is the place!
Highlights:
•Birria Ramen
•Aguas Frescas
•Birria Melt
Review: We are in the hunt to find the best birria spot in Austin and surrounding areas. I’ve seen this spot mentioned to me all over social media so we had to finally check it out. The Birria ramen had a good amount of beef, noodles were on point and the onion’s definitely added the right amount of acidity. However, the broth left much to be desired, it was a bit salty for my palate with a lingering artificial after taste. The QuesiBirria tacos were a bit better, the cheese really came through to save the day but again that broth knocked it down a few points. The highlight I have to say was the Sandia agua fresca both in flavor and presentation. I would definitely want to go back to try their Birria Melt.
