We visited Couqley Dbayeh on a Saturday for a late lunch, and it turned out to be a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant is located in the Ground 7 area, which is clean, organized, and well maintained. Inside, the décor gives off a warm French bistro vibe, though the indoor space feels a bit tight and the tables are placed close to each other, so I was actually glad it wasn’t crowded during our visit.
We ordered three of their regular Steak Frites (180g Australian filet), along with Soup à L’oignon Gratinée, baked potatoes, and fresh orange juice. The meal started with warm, crispy bread and good butter, followed by a fresh green salad. The steaks were cooked medium, very tender, and served with Couqley’s signature sauce, which is always a highlight. The fries were crispy and tasty, and the onion soup was flavorful and comforting. The orange juice was fresh as well.
Service was professional, friendly, and attentive, which added to the overall experience. They also have an outdoor seating area with a nice ambiance, but it was too cold to sit outside this time.
Prices are on the higher end, but the quality of the food and service generally reflects that. Overall, Couqley remains a solid choice for French cuisine, steak lovers, and anyone looking for a reliable dining experience in Dbayeh. Their menu is broad, and we’re looking forward to trying more dishes on our next visit.
