A super cute coffee shop addition to Old Town Monrovia and it fits in perfectly. They have an outdoor patio in the back as well as some up front! The inside has limited seating and it’s best for a party of two. Mug service is in effect when you dine in so if you’re into that like me then I know you’ll enjoy your experience. Their coffee and teas are pretty good and I can say that after ordering their Cortado along with the Turmeric and London Fog tea lattes. Service was ok and my only issue with that was their attitude after they saw what I tipped. That’s not cool in my book but other than that it’s a great place to sit and have your morning coffee or whatever time of day you enjoy it. I must warn you though, this place gets super crowded and after your experience you’ll know why. If you’re into the area in search of a coffee shop then I say definitely check this place out if possible.

So excited Republik Coffee is finally open in Old Town Monrovia!! Today is the day they start their soft opening. We loved the coffees and pastries we tried and everyone was so friendly! I arrived right at opening and when I left the line was already almost out the door lol.
For my drink, I tried the seasonal Purple Caramel Latte (iced) and loved it! A wonderful balance between the ube and caramel flavors and their coffee is very smooth. It’s also beautiful! Hubby tried the Turmeric Ginger Latte (hot) – perfectly spiced and cozy – we would get both of these again. I really love that all of their syrups are made in-house.
For our breakfast we sampled the ham and cheese croissant, raspberry danish, and orange polenta. The flavors are fantastic and their pastries all had flawless texture! Their croissants are light and flaky and not greasy at all. The ham they used was quality for sure. The orange polenta was my favorite- plenty of strong orange flavor which is sometimes missing in these cakes.
The sweetness levels in the Tumeric Ginger Latte and their sweet pastries is pretty sweet – but I don’t regularly eat much sugar so definitely a preference of my palate. I still thought they were excellent and would get all these items again. The sweetness level in the Purple Caramel Latte was very muted and perfect for me so if you’re looking for something not as intensely sweet – go for that one.
The vibes are sleek and modern, Mediterranean style with lovely tiled walls and accents. There was already quite a crowd forming at opening – very lively vibes with general excited chatter and upbeat music in the background. A great place to catch up with friends – but if you’re looking for a quiet spot to get some work done, they have a very cozy and quiet back patio as well.
Service is friendly and enthusiastic – prices are moderate but definitely consistent with the area and the quality.
Republik is a small locally owned coffee shop chain with cafes in Pasadena and Burbank and now Old Town Monrovia! You’ll find them in the spot where the Sunday’s Old Town Bistro used to be.
It’s an excellent location – Old Town is very walkable and they’re in a prime spot on the main drag – great for grabbing a coffee before walking around or relaxing inside with some pastries to do some people watching or catch up on emails. Plenty of free parking on the streets or in the public lots scattered around nearby.
Given that heir other locations have such high ratings, we’ve been eagerly awaiting their arrival – totally lived up to the hype and we’re happy they’re finally open! Welcome to Monrovia!!

4.5 the best service from a young kid i believe his name was Arv or irv? he is in tje pic, the cooks look hard at work, but i only tried the coffee and pastries, the drink was really good pistachio latte i believe, the pastries were Ummm Just OK they tasted like they are bought some where else and resold, no problem in that but i just feel this much elegance is just missing this touch, over all its good solid 4.5 its a good solid experience, the manager in the italian hat just needs to smile a bit more, the crew get a 5. star the manager a 4 for not smiling LOL

Just went for the first time and was very surprised. We thought it was just gonna be another coffee shop in monrovia , but we were pleasantly surprised. Naomi helped us and she was a delight. She was very helpful and knew the menu very well and had great suggestions. Also the place was packed but somehow she greated us when we walked in the door. We had like 3 drinks and 2 food items. The food took forever but was great.

Republik Coffee (est 2025) is a brand new coffee shop location in Old Town Monrovia; they’re popular coffee brand known for its quality coffee, house-made syrups, and pastries, celebrating its soft opening in December 2025. I have been to one of their other locations in Pasadena.
This bldg suite that RC currently occupies was a French Bistro but sadly went out of business. I am ebullient that they opened a location in my favorite old town. I came on their soft opening for a late breakfast. As I cross the street, there was a small crowd buzzing at this coffee shop. I quickly perused at their compendious menu. While I was waiting on line at the counter there were two white women from a far end table who appeared to be waving toward my direction, then a lady behind me who said they’re definitely not waving at me. She stated they must be for you because you’re good looking (she made quick glance). And then she realized it was his son’s h.s. teacher. Lol. Anyways, back to this review. 😀
I ordered a Chicken Pesto Panini (with side of salad) and a hot Latte. Sandwich was bloody fresh, warm and delicious as well as the salad. Moreover, the hobbit size Latte was adorable and perfectly made to my liking. Moreover, I was able to meet and chat with the owner at their rear outdoor patio. He is such a wonderful person.
Interior was neat and organized with a relaxing vibe. Seats were comfortable. Staff were affable and professional. Prices were economically competitive. Public parking was abundant. Overall, this coffee shop is a great addition to this town and I enjoyed my dine-in experience and food/coffee. I highly recommend.

The new Republik Coffee does food, too: delicious Dulce de Leche Brioche French Toast with cinnamon whipped cream. Instead of 4 thin bread slices it’s 2 thick ones. Not as sweet as it sounds, which was a good thing. Solid cup of House Blend coffee. Only negative: loud music blasting out from 5 powerful speakers hanging above. I asked them to please turn it down and they kinda did, temporarily. When the weather’s warmer, their back patio may become a hidden gem.

Perfect addition to Old Town, I’m so happy this style coffee shop finally exists here. The cappuccino was perfect, I appreciate that you can taste the quality of the espresso. Their food is always excellent. Tried the Dulce De Leche French Toast, which was a wild. Such a treat. Hoping their hours extend to 5 or 6pm, there are a lot of service workers and medical professionals who work nights who would love to support Republik rather than Starbucks.

Previously gave a 4 star review (will leave my older review below for anyone who wishes to reference), but after 3 additional visits, I’m upgrading my review to 5 stars. Solid wifi, great product offering, clean, well staffed and service is fantastic. It’s no wonder it’s been so busy here. I’ve ordered many different drinks, and today ordered a Chicken Pesto Panini; everything has been very well made and delicious. However, the big thing to highlight here is just how friendly and service oriented the team is. One example is being delivered my drink (after waiting a while to pick it up) at my table, and also being offered to get my table cleaned. Shout out to Avi, who is most conscientious and attentive. I hope you get recognized for your excellence. I see many senior staff members going in and out of this location as well, and get a sense the place although new and working out its kinks, is well attended to. Well done, and I’m very happy to support Republik.

I ordered a hot oatmilk latte, and a banana cake, and sat at the outdoor patio area for an extended time, working on my computer. The wifi seems solid so far. I really appreciate that! The coffee was great. Well balanced, and made by an earnest barrister. Everything was served quickly, and the tables are cleaned quickly. The service provided while I ordered was friendly as well. Unfortunately I did not like the cake, and felt it warmed up would have been much better (I was not asked and I did not remember to ask). All that said, what a privileged life I lead, to make a comment on the temperature of a slice of cake, and I would absolutely be coming back regularly. Great job.
