I really enjoyed dining at New Shanghai. The atmosphere was lively, the service was friendly, and the crab Rangoons were especially tasty. I gave it 4 stars because the fried rice could be improved, but overall it was a great experience and I’d definitely come back.

I’m not sure what has happened, if there is new management or what. I had been going here for years and only had limited issues. I placed an order with a new girl that is there. She totally messed my order up. When I went to pick up my food I told her about the order that was wrong and asked for what I had ordered. She went to the cook and told him, the cook proceeded to say I had to pay for what he cooked. I said I want what I ordered and I will pay for what I ordered and not for what I didn’t but if they wanted to give me the other order I would take it but not pay for it. He then said No and refused to cook me what I ordered and said to take what he cooked. Now of course I didn’t because Noone should be trying to make someone eat what they don’t like nor eat. So since he refused to cook my one item in my order I left the rest of the order. Needless to say not sure I’ll come back again. Totally Disappointed

I went to pick up my order and the young lady, was laughing and chatting with two customers while I patiently waited after she finished chatting she got on the phone and took orders while I waited for my food I had ordered 30 minutes before, bring back the other young lady that’s really nice and treat customers like family, you lost a loyal customer.

It’s simply okay. The girl that runs the counter is always very kind and helpful with the menu but the food is simply sub-par. Isn’t super flavorful but isn’t too bad either. It’s okay if you’re in the area and they’re the only ones open at the time. They also have a small shop with miscellaneous items.
It’s your typical Chinese food spot with a couple of menu standouts such as Philly cheese egg rolls and plantains which some other Chinese food spots don’t have.
Overall I don’t mind it sometimes. It’s hit or miss depending on the cook.

The only Chinese food I eat is curry shrimp so I can’t speak on anything else. I was terrified to try this place, because I’m very particular about this dish. My favorite Chinese place is 45 min away and it’s just too far for a quick craving. New Shanghai is amazing from the service to the food! Jenny is the sweetest and very kind. Everything was cooked to perfection and the place was clean. I’ll definitely be back. Don’t let negative reviews deter you from given this restaurant a chance. The pictures doesn’t do it justice but the portion was huge and the price is fair.
