Needed some pastry-fueled energy to complete our roadtrip and BakeLab did not disappoint. Ordered a few danishes, croissants, and cruffins to-go; these were right up there with some of the well-known bakeries I’ve been to around the US and abroad. The indoor/outdoor seating seemed like a nice atmosphere for students to study or remote workers to grab a table. The bakery was clean, and the staff very pleasant. We were able to find a parking spot on the side street, which I am sure becomes more difficult when school is in session. Thank you, BakeLab!

They have 2 locations. The one on Lincoln Ave has more options in terms of pastries but you can’t go wrong with either. Their pastries and croissant sandwiches are some of the best I’ve had. Their service is always great as well. Make sure to go early as they only make a limited quantity. If you go late in the day, they may have a limited selection.

Meghan and Sam took care of my order. The pastries here are amazing quality, the service Meghan and Sam provided was excellent, and the overall atmosphere is amazing and clean! Would recommend this location as I visit it frequently. The pastries are one of a kind, such as the service! 10/10 would recommend if in the area.

Calm setting with ample seating and friendly workers. The seasonal coffees were tasty but could be stronger, the pastries were fresh and unique. The pb coffee pastry was a miss, but the fruit pastries are a safe and sweet option.

My gf and I went here over the weekend, we got the specialty chai latte and the crème brûlée latte. Pretty good but wish the drinks were stronger. We also got some fruit pastries, recommend the berry danish and pineapple tart a lot. However I’d recommend warming them up. Nonetheless pretty good

This place is adorable! How did I not find it sooner? Everything was delicious, and the oatmeal cookie latte was just as great as the other reviews I’ve seen about it. Great place to be with fair prices and friendly service. Will be back, for sure!

An incredible local bakery and cafe! The inside makes a great space to sit and study while having a drink or a small breakfast or lunch, and the food and coffee are phenomenal. The staff have been friendly and helpful every time I’ve visited so far. I’ll be coming back regularly!

The little coffee shop is inside a hotel lobby but it’s a hidden gem. I was a bit skeptical to be honest but as soon as I viewed the pastry display all my doubts faded away. The only hard part was what to order. I ordered a banofee croissant and a candied orange mocha iced coffee. My daughter had the same drink as I did and she had a fig croissant along with another savory croissant. We were very pleased with all our items. The croissants were soft and buttery and the flavors were amazing. My sweet treat was outstanding. I had we never had a banofee but after this I will be having more! Overall, the staff were attentive and helpful at helping us make our choices. The overall atmosphere of the shop was quaint and relaxing. I recommend going here if you are in Champaign you can’t go wrong. The prices are fair and the quality of the food is well worth the cost. They offered season drinks which we can’t wait to see what they offer for winter season.

As a croissant lover, I couldn’t resist trying out this stylish bakery tucked away in the college town. They offered a variety of creative croissant and I was intrigued enough to give it a go. I ordered Caprese Pesto Croissant—a unique concept, for sure.
However, I couldn’t help but notice the price point was on the higher side, with individual savory pastries and croissant costing around $7-8. Perhaps it’s the lack of competition that allows such bold pricing.
While the idea behind the croissant was commendable, it was excessively greasy, with an overwhelming use of butter or oil. If priced more reasonably, I might have rated it higher, but paying over $7 for this level of quality didn’t quite sit right with me.
That said, I do think there’s potential here. If they can refine the greasiness, the croissant could turn into a delightful.
