The rest of the restaurant was smaller than I expected, actually I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was busy.
What struck us most was the food! The dinner was buffet style and every dish was delicious! Perfectly balanced seasonings on everything. Often things are heavy on the salt, these were not. Both my husband and I said it was some of the best food we’ve had in a very long time.
We sat down at a table and noticed there was only one person in the kitchen. Our table was sticky and humid, the room felt thick. The first we thing we got was a round of sodas, and each were flat and tasted like syrup. Then our wings were extremely bland and had little to no taste, while also having signs and drips of blood around the bone and some inside the chicken. Our Firecracker Kalamari was overcooked in old grease and we found bits and pieces of food that was cooked prior to serving us. The marinara sauce looked and tasted like burnt salsa. The potato skins were dry, definitely old and brittle. The cheese was rubbery and probably microwaved. Worst of all, we found a literal and solid ice cube inside a cup of sour cream. Then our meals came out, and were an absolute disaster. The stuffed cod (we sent it back before I could get a picture) had stuffing burnt on top, fish burnt and stuck to the bowl. It was extremely dry and the vegetables to come with it were dried up. The tuna salad grinder I ordered, had hardly any tuna. I asked for a tuna grinder and I got a lettuce sandwich with stale bread. The lasagna was completely unrecognizable. The platter looked like a science experiment gone wrong, as it was resting in a puddle of grease about an inch off the plate. There was a layer of burnt cheese and everything was overcooked. On the plus side, the little salads were good. And the chicken tenders were good too. The fruit that came with them, was fresh out of a can.
Despite our waitress, who apologized constantly, we were billed $80 (and that’s without the cod) for a meal we were not even close to happy with.
Please don’t come here, unless something changes immediately.
Menu is common New England fare, but a lot of choices. From simple hot and cold grinders, to excellent fish n’ chips, eggplant or chicken Parmesan, and tons of other options. Frequent specials, as well.
You’ll find a ton of locals and regulars, but both staff and customers are very welcoming to any new comers.
