Was in the mood for brisket and went with the 1st one that popped up on Google. Service was quick, fast and easy. The food was another story. The beans and rice were ok but the brisket was lacking. Could have used more spices as the flavor wasnt quit there. Maybe some salt and pepper. Could have trimmed the fat off the meat as well ♂️ i gave it a solid 3 stars out of 5. On to the next review

Waited almost a year to finally try and it was worth it! Got there just after opening, there was a line, waited about 15-20 minutes, again well worth it. I had the Frumunder if I’m not mistaken. It consisted of 2 beef patties, American, pepper jack and nacho cheese with a heaping pile of brisket and a mountain of fries. My wife got the honeybun cheeseburger which included bacon, crunchy peanut butter, American cheese and beef patty. I didn’t see a bathroom available, over all it was an amazing meal and will definitely be back. Also seating is limited.

The food here is simply awesome. Some of the best BBQ you will have. They constantly create nee concoctions to separate them from your normal BBQ places. It doesn’t hurt that their BBQ has a better flavor than most. Ordering is quick and easy at their walk up window. Covered picnic tables outside of this small location provide a nice open atmosphere. I eat here about once a week. Try them out,you won’t be disappointed.

Whadda say whadda say yo! Unbelievably worth the wait for my 1st visit. Being one to seek out local momnpop joints, my burger exceeded all expectations! You won’t see no duck fat fries or fancy buns here, just good ol got the MUNCHIES style creations. Great solid picnic tables outside with covered roof provided our setting. I went with El Guapo, cause well, you know! Dbl patty, chopped n sliced brisket, nacho cheese, so I had to add some bacon. I did nothing to add to the burger that was presented to me and after 1st bite, it didn’t have a chance. Patty’s juicy, brisket not over smoked flavor and tender, bacon(any bacon is amazing lol), super surprised that with all that and nacho cheese that the bun held up. My final bite (piece de resistance ) had all 5 components of this masterpiece still held together unlike an Ed Gein corpse. Owner was very passionate and it fully shows through his staff and food. Oh yeah, SIC French Fries!

When it comes to eating local Don’t let the location fool you, El Vago BBQ is a true hidden gem in the neighborhood and a must-try for any serious BBQ lover. This is the kind of small, local spot that gives ‘hood food its legendary reputation. The portions are crazy good and the prices are very reasonable. I went expecting to break the bank to get full and will leave with money to spare and a full tummy. My tenders alone blow Canes, BWW and Popeyes out of the water in size and flavor. Do yourself a favor a find a way out here you will see the hype is real.

Tried el vago for the first time, ive followed his page for couple years but finally tried it , and i was very impressed! I got the pinche cup it was so good I want another one !!!!!! My husband got the el guapo it was so delicious!!!!!! The fries are the best fries I’ve ever tasted in my life seriously. Can’t wait to go back. And the poppers have chicken

Gave it a 4 cause no Tacos were offered when I arrived. Juan DayZ someone somewhere is gonna offer Tacos 4 a 5 star ..Nice , Burger was very good , but the Fries WoW battered .. drove home took about 13mins.. Fries were still crunchy … Also ordered Jalapeno bacon Wraps Vurry Buenos again by the time I got home still Crunchy .. This place is vurry Buenos .. Took about 15mins 4 order but that just means it was fresh … Man definitely gonna have 2 hit this place again and again and again … Later my Pepples but yeah this place is worth it

After reading a negative review given to this establishment just for being closed for the owners attending their son’s graduation, it fueled my fire to come try El Vago for the first time. Let me tell you, my husband and I were not disappointed at all! My brisket sandwich was full of flavor, the buns were nice and buttery, the brisket itself was full of flavor, it was tender and juicy. My husband’s burger was made to perfection, it had a nice crisp edge and you can tell the beef is very fresh and not frozen. You can tell that love is definitely put into their food and they take time to make sure your meals are made to perfection. We will definitely be going back will honestly make this a regular visit because the food is soo great as was the customer service. If you’ve never tried El Vago, you’re missing out. Be sure you follow them on Facebook where they keep you up today with daily posts regarding any closures, sell outs of food, specials, etc. I can’t wait to go back!

I have to say this is one of the best bbq spots not only in Corpus but also in Texas. We loved every bite we tried. We’ll be back to Corpus here soon and maybe just for the food here. Staff is awesome and food is great. Thanks again and can’t wait to come back. Loved it and worth trying if you haven’t its a must try. You’ll be addicted to the brisket and the bbq sauce.
