I found a very large insect in the soup. Not only did the staff refuse to apologize, but they still charged me for the dish containing the insect.

The waitress here was excellent, everything else was poor. The supercilious barman was very very rude, and the cocktail he made had no alcohol at all in it. I don’t understand how he keeps his job. The beef was overcooked and there was hardly any tuna in the very bland pasta sauce. Will never return – far too expensive when there are better options nearby.

I loved the place. We couldn’t find anything to eat and everything was a bit bad in the area, then they recommended this place to us and it was just perfect! Delicious, clean, smiling and lovely people. Recommend 🙂

2 weeks in Alpe d’Huez- favorite restaurant – we’ve been there 5 times in less than 2 weeks. By far the best fondue – fish- etc excellent!

We were early enough (6pm) that we didn’t need to book. However it really quickly filled up with people trying to get a table. Our second attempt at getting a table wasn’t successful (830pm) and they were full. So my advice is book in advance or go early.
Food was really good! We were are party of 5 and everyone really enjoyed their food. A mixture of Pizzas and a shared Cheese Fondue.
Monsieur behind the bar did an amazing job being water and barman! Credit to him he was the only person was saw and was running it solo. Maybe it explains why he didn’t smile once.
Alaska gets extra points as they stocked an Alcohol Free Beer (0.0% Heineken). As I’m an Alcohol Free sober chap.
I would recommend this restaurant because it has good food and was on the cheap side (compared to other places nearby).

Chalet girls night off. We’d had a lovely lunch at l’Alaska a few days previously. Took our whole chalet of 8 along. We had a wonderful time. Fantastic pizzas. I had la vachette, mixed cold meat and a hot cheese in the middle. Service was excellent , especially as there is only one helpful guy doing everything!! Reasonably priced and a firewater set of shots with the bill! I Definitely recommend l’Alaska.
