A Hidden Gem for Families & Foodies Alike

An amazing find! The food here is top-tier—fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the Mini Belgian Waffles (crispy on the outside, soft inside, with just the right touch of sweetness), a Chicken Quesadilla (gooey, cheesy, and perfectly grilled), and the Veggie Burrito (packed with vibrant greens and full of flavor). Every bite was a win.

The dining area offers a variety of seating options, from cozy couches to café tables. The kids’ menu is a hit, and the rear seating area is a parent’s dream—extremely kid-friendly with activities like bean bag toss, giant Jenga, and a play lemonade stand and kitchen set. There’s also a book and game nook, perfect for grabbing a good read or a board game to enjoy while you dine.

Service was warm and welcoming, and the vibe is relaxed yet lively. Whether you’re here for breakfast, lunch, or just coffee and a snack, this is a fantastic stop for both locals and travelers.

Family-friendly, delicious, and fun—strong in the Force, this place is.

Birdies was such a cozy spot! Loved the chill vibe and music, enjoyed a delicious (and toasted!) burrito and acai bowl that involved Nutella, yum. Appreciated not spending 40 bux for lunch for once, very reasonable pricing. Best part was the kids playroom in the back where we could relax on a couch and eat while our 3 year old explored the space. Loved that it was separate room from the main restaurant so kids-free folks can have space too. Friendly, kind staff and all around great experience. We’ll be back!

Cute spot for sandwiches! Bonus they have gluten free. I ordered the turkey and fig jam on GF bread. It was pressed and it tasted good the first few bites and then the warm fig jam started soaking through the bread and my hands were a sticky mess. I think it was due to the GF bread because normally it comes on Ciabatta, I believe. Lighting is a little dim as others have mentioned but I appreciate that. Makes it cozy in there. The back area is a large play area and the front area has plenty of tables. I’ll pop back in here when I’m in the mood for a sandwich!

Birdies is such a wonderful and unique eatery. Of course there’s food, but also you can shop, cozy up with a book, have an adult beverage, listen to local bands, take a class and enjoy family/children special events. There’s room for private events too. Truly an amazing venue!!

This is a great place for families. A diverse menu including kit options. In the back is a room with toys that include trains, magna tiles, lemonade stand, and kitchen with play food. All the food was quite good. Our table, in the kid section, was a bit sticky, which is why service didn’t get 5 stars.

Welcoming staff greeted us and took our order at the counter. There was plenty of groupings of chairs and couches, with tables nearby for use. Our specialty hot teas came out quickly. They were generous size and delicious. We did not order from the menu this time but noted there were very good breakfast and lunch options. Looking forward to coming back! Thank you!

This is a great spot that has dining, community resources and events, and, best for us as parents of a 4 year old, a play space for kids where parents can also hang out. We would definitely come here often if we lived in Keene!

**If I could give 10 stars, I would.**

This place is an absolute gem. I am so greatful that Keene offers something this special. The food is *consistently delicious*, and the beer selection is spot-on, with something for every taste. But what truly sets this restaurant apart is the *atmosphere*.

As a parent, finding a spot where you can genuinely relax while your child is happily entertained feels nearly impossible, but not here. The warm, inviting play area filled with toys, trains, and a play kitchen creates the perfect environment for families. You can actually sit back, enjoy your meal, and have a conversation while your child plays safely within view.

It’s thoughtful, it’s welcoming, and it’s by far my *favorite* place to go for lunch. Highly, *highly* recommended.
