After a complete renovation of what some may remember as Nendel’s, The Steakhouse at 9900 maintains an old school feel with a flavor of the now. While The Opihi Group wanted to bring a Steakhouse to the west side of Portland, Executive Chef Jamie McDonald put his unique spin on the menu by including sides with all of his entrees instead of your typical steakhouse a-la-cart option, which allows him to create exceptional value throughout the menu. If you aren’t a steak lover, don’t worry as Chef Jamie has created some truly unique and special options that will keep you coming back as well.
In addition to The Steakhouse, The 9900 is also the home of Lou’s bar and The Chamber.

We came for a family celebration on a Friday evening. It was not too crowded, and we had reservations just in case. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Unfortunately, the guest of honor ordered a steak, which was not prepared per his request. They left his sides, and he had eaten them by the time the newly prepared steak arrived. Otherwise, everyone enjoyed their dishes. We had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, so most likely, we will return, and I will update this review.

This place is such a hidden gem. Wow. You would never in a million years think a steak house in a best western in Beaverton is phenomenal but here we are. Cocktails were amazing. Wine list was so good. They had some great willamette valley options but rounded out the list with some bigger, bolder reds from California and Washington that pair really well with the steaks. Croquettes were the perfect little bite for an appetizer. Beet and apple salad was so yummy. Both the filet and tomahawk were really, really good. And caramel cheesecake was literally the icing on the cake. Staff was so sweet and helpful. Ambiance left a little bit to be desired but was very clean and comfortable. Prices were extremely reasonable. We splurged for Valentine’s Day and were still way under what another steakhouse would have charged for this meal. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Not only is their restaurant side great, but their bar side is also wonderful. They have limited items at this time, but was satisfying. The staff is friendly and remember our drink orders and made sure that we stay hydrated. The nachos here are a good size and great for sharing. The wings and quesadilla were also tasty.

I’ll start off with just 2 words…Hidden Gem!
Fist off the restaurant itself is a hidden Gem. The cuisine here is fabulous and the ambiance and decor were nice. Secondly, the entrance is hidden…. hidden inside the lobby of the Best Western it’s attached to, so it took us a minute to find the entrance. The staff is very accommodating, tentative and took care of our every need.
We started off with the Beat Salad which was quite tasty, the beats and goat cheese along with the arugula played very well together. I would have preferred a little more acid in the dressing but I am an acid freak and a lot of people don’t like that as much as I do. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon with roasted fingerlings and asparagus. The Filet was cooked perfectly. Nice crust on the outside and tender juicy medium on the inside. The asparagus was cooked great and had a nice snap to them. I had the Shrimp and Zucchini Risotto which was very well prepared. The rice was perfectly cooked with the right amount of cheese and the Shrimp were plump and juicy with a slight char on the outside. Overall a well balanced dish. We finished off the night with a new desert that wasn’t on the menu. It was a lemon custard with a layer of crumbled gram cracker and topped with an unsweetened whipped cream which perfectly balanced out the dish.
This is a restaurant that I see myself frequenting often!

This is a coffee shop that happens to serve steaks that are mediocre at best. It is located in the lobby of a Best Western motel. The food was barely decent. None of the steaks was cooked right. They all had to be sent back to be heated. The waitress Seyka did a great job to accommodate us as best as possible however the bar attendant and greeter Melanie was very rude and abrupt. Not quite sure why she would choose hospitality as a job. I do not recommend nor would I ever go back.

Pretty good food at a great price. You can get a 7oz filet mignon for $40, with sides. However, even at that price the steak is cooked very well. We got a new York stripe because they had run out of filet mignons, ordered medium rare, and came perfectly. The steak also came with a gorgonzola butter, asparagus, and fingerling potatoes. The second dish we got was a chef special, pork cheek pasta in a cherry sauce. It was delicious and the pork was tender beyond belief. The only thing I would say is that it could use a bit of salt, on both. Side note definitely get the duck fat rosemary fries.

Great steak, good service, and a perfect date spot!
We had the tomahawk (it’s a splurge, but you won’t be disappointed), a blue cheese wedge, and great cocktails & wine. Bread was served warm & toasty with quality butter. Next time, if we aren’t too stuffed, we’d try dessert too!
The ambience inside is low light, classy, and intimate. Dress up and treat yourself!

The “mini” tomahawk steak was perfectly cooked and the sides were wonderfully seasoned. Cocktails were excellent as was the Malbec. The in house chicharrones were a huge hit as were the duckfat fries. This is definitely a solid steakhouse that we will return to
