We were in the area and looking for an easy spot to feed a family of 4, including littles. Very spacious and uncrowded. There’s just enough parking out front, but consider carpooling just in case.
There’s a good variety of options on the menu including brunch. The fact that kids get to choose from any sandwich is really nice.
It’s far from us, but would go out of my way to visit again if we are in the area.

1st timer, can say I absolutely love it! Zo the chef came out to check and see if we loved the food (we definitely did!) I got the Italian Hippie and my son got a breakfast sandwich. My very picky tore of the fries (they were so fresh and yummy). The store is so clean and stylish, they even gave us an inspirational quote ❤️

Great Food and customer service! I eat mostly plant based. I was able to sub the cheese on my breakfast sandwich for vegan cheese. They also have vegan butter and tofu scramble. My sandwich had eggs, vegan cheese, grilled jalapeños, and grilled onions on sourdough bread. Very tasty! Shoutout to chef Zo for hooking it up and also giving me some tots on the side.

Easily one of the best grilled cheeses I’ve ever had! All of the staff members were incredible. They were super patient, answered all of our questions, and were more than happy to accommodate food-allergy related requests. Great atmosphere, incredibly clean, fabulous staff, and even better food!

In July (2025) we saw a CBS story that highlighted Ruthie’s Cafe and just had to try it. The grilled cheese had looked so delicious!
We had the “Plain Jane”, the “Plain Jane” with jalapeños, and the “Extra Cheesy” and they were all so yummy! The bread was crunchy with every bite—I don’t know how Zoe (chef/cook) does it. The food was so good, we ended up ordering additional grilled cheese sandwiches to take home with us. Zoe said that we would be raving about the “The Boss” (BBQ beef brisket with sharp yellow cheese). I can’t wait to get home to try it.
You should definitely check this place out. …but get there before 2:00 PM on Saturday.

I love Ruthie‘s Breakfast Sandwich (I added tomato today) and it always makes my day when I swing by to pick one up. But it’s the people that make the experience. Being remembered, chatting and Zo made my sandwich today and it was fabulous. Run to Ruthie‘s for a great meal and wonderful service. And make new friends in the process.

Love Ruthie’s! Everything on the menu is AMAZING! Great spot for breakfast and lunch (maybe even dinner lol). Good for meetings and quick-go-to work spot. The chef Zo is probably top 10 best chefs in the city, especially in South Dallas. Everything he makes is delicious and he does it with love and care. I recommend the Crazy Chicken for lunch and the Sunnyside Powerbowl for breakfast. Grateful to have Ruthie’s in our South Dallas community. They’re very much needed!

I’ve been a huge fan of their food truck for more than a decade! And their restaurant does not disappoint. The brisket grilled cheese and fries is always amazing! Food came out hot and fresh, and service was excellent. This is a beautiful store, and you can tell the employees enjoy working there. If you’ve never had it, I highly recommend you go try it, five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
