Never would have expected such a great restaurant in a strip mall. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Definitely will be back. Filet mignon was the best

We met a couple for pre Christmas dinner. The restaurant was busy. We had a cocktail in the bar area which was all good. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere was busy and very noisy which made it challenging to have a conversation unfortunately. I ordered the ragu bolognese which was served hot and was, very good. My wife ordered the filet mignon which was requested to be gluten free with gluten-free prepared vegetables and potatoes. When her food arrived the server said the potatoes could not be served as requested (unseasoned) and substituted double vegetable in this, case broccoli. No baked potato was available and other alternatives were offered such as a house salad. We were disappointed with this.

Dinner with friends was delicious, well timed, many options and specials and a tasty looking dessert tray! We were too full to try one, but plan to come back sometime and keep room for dessert!

One of our favorite restaurants and it’s local! Last night our food didn’t disappoint. Our waitress was attentive, the bartender made perfect drinks and the chef made us amazing food!

I have lived off Fetzner Rd most of my life and had never been to the lamplighter, until tonight. I was out with my aunt, who hadn’t been here in 40years, and she suggested we grab dinner here. I immediately felt underdressed about the situation but our sever, Holly, said it was a very comfortable and casual atmosphere and not to worry. (My aunt of course immediately says “are we dressed ok?!” When we walk in because I was self conscious about my hoodie and sneaker )

Despite such a comfortable and casual approach the atmosphere was still so charming and cozy. Holly also provided 5 star fine dining service! As a bartender and former server I can appreciate the attention to detail while never being up tight.

I ordered the gnocchi and my aunt got the chicken French. We also split a bottle of Mark West Pinot noir and really enjoyed the fresh, hot bread. 10/10 experience , I can’t believe I haven’t been here sooner and can’t wait to return!

Hidden gem!

Seeing the restaurant in the plaza I didn’t expect the quality of food they were serving. It was excellent!

The bisque was very good, and apparently it’s an original recipe for decades. When something tastes this good, you don’t change it.

The pork chop was a very generous portion and tasted fantastic with the mango on top.

The only issue was the timing for me. The bread came after I was done my bisque, and it took a very long time for the pork chop to be served.

Other than that, the server was very attentive and the flavours were great, and the prices were very reasonable.

Check them out, and I’m sure you’ll be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Ate dinner here while visiting from Los Angeles to attend a funeral.

Both my husband and I are vegetarian, so we opted for the one vegetarian dish that was offered, some kind of pasta with eggplant and vegetables. It was meh. Frankly, it was bland in taste and didn’t seem like it was seasoned much. Someone else in our group ordered it and agreed with our assessment. Two others in our party shared the Chicken Parmesan and were pleased with it.

The bread is tasty, however. Service was good, and they had a decent amount of wine choices, so if you drink enough, I’m sure everything will taste amazing.

Not going to lie, we’ve lived up the street from this restaurant for years and never stopped in, we decided it was time on a Tuesday, came in and were seated immediately, wasn’t too crowded but enough folks to know the food was good. Started with some drinks, some soups and main courses, I had the specialty pumpkin seed crusted scallops and was highly impressed, overall everything was very good and reasonable in price. Very nice quiet dinner close by would recommend!

This restaurant lives up to its reputation. Our meal was outstanding. The arancini was soooo good. The portions are decent and the prices fair. Our waitress was attentive and friendly as were the other staff we interacted with. It’s a bit on the louder side since everyone is close together in the dining area, but the seating is spaced out enough so it’s comfortable. Not a quiet dining experience, but definitely a tasty one.
