This place was okay. The food that I ordered was a little underwhelming though for a top (google) rated bbq joint.
First off, I must say that the decor in the building is very neat. The themed paintings on the walls really set a good vibe. Also, I like the layout of the building. It’s perfect for carryout, but there are spots to sit and eat in a large room.
As for food, I asked them what the highlight of the menu was and they basically said that it was all good, which honestly tells me that they don’t have a go-to item that makes them stick out. Not a big deal, but kind of a yellow flag.
They then proceeded to say that their hamburger was one of their most popular items. And I’m sorry, but I don’t do hamburgers at a BBQ joint. I would have found a local bar and grill if I wanted that. They then said that their brisket fries were a top item with their signature sauses; crack and blueberry. So while I didn’t particularly want fries, I did see it tagged on the reviews and it would also give me a chance to try some of their BBQ meat (not a hamburger).
So I get my order in a large container and it appeared to be quite a large portion. But I really wouldn’t say that they hook you up on the brisket.
That being said, the brisket was pretty average. Not a lot of flavor and a little too soft. Also, the brisket was too thinly spread on the fries. They were small chunks and it was boardline shredded. It seemed as if the sauces on the fries were kind of the big draw for this item as the fries just seemed smothered in them. As far as the flavor of the sauces, the white crack sause was pretty good. The blueberry sause was a little too overpowering. It had a very tangy taste with some sweetness to it. It was almost like a teriyaki.
There were also too many fries. I ate all of the brisket and threw the rest of the fries out. Don’t know if thats worth bringing up but it kind of gives you the perspective.
Overall, despite the nitpicking, this place wasn’t bad. Can’t say I’d ever be back but there is a certain draw. It seems like this place does really well with the locals in the area. Really, the best part of this experience was the atmosphere and the white crack sause.

Great place for some good BBQ in town. Outside cound use some updating. Really nice mural inside. Service was quick and friendly. I shall return.

Loved the smell of bbq in the parking lot! Order at the counter, get your food to go or sit inside at the tables. Service was excellent, friendly staff and great little place! We ordered the brisket sandwich and large fries which could have fed a family of 5. Brisket sandwich was under $10 can’t find that anywhere else. Everything was delicious, bourbon sauce was great and fries were tasty. A little salty for us but still had nice flavours.

Decided to try out some cheeseburgers and fries — we have had the BBQ before and it was decent. The pulled pork was good and the brisket a bit salty. However, today we were in the mood for ‘smoked’ burgers. They were no frill and perhaps had cooled off too much by the time we got home (this place does offer a few tables but seems to be all about take-out). The good: burgers. They had a nice smokey flavor and did not disappoint. Also: the BBQ sauces are fun and varied. The not-bad: the loaded fries. We picked ‘pulled pork’ loaded and they were rich and mostly satisfying. The bad: the fries. Fries need to be crispy and these fries were soggy and limp. Some people might find that palatable: I am not one of them. Perhaps they were crisp in the beginning. I appreciate Kretzschy’s Smokey BBQ as an option in Sebewaing. Stick with the meat.

First, the place looks cool inside. New Orleans theme. And it smells great.
But one sandwich and fries shouldn’t cost $17 in Sebewaing Mi.
And I would like the staff to warn me that the “large” fries is actually a 3-week supply. (See photo). Just give me a heads up. Nowhere on the menu board did it say “crossing the Atlantic” sized fries.
And in no restaurant in America is “Mudshovel” by Staind (played at an ear-splitting level) an appealing musical accompaniment.

I have ribs and jambalaya. My sweetie have pull pork and slaw. Pull pork came with slaw on the sandwich. Meat was good Ribs was delicious! Fall off the bone cooked to perfection. Not a fan of the jambalaya. This is a nice place, foodies sweet spot. Check out the menu.

The food comes in astronomical portions. You’ll get at least 2 meals from one order. The Cole slaw is amazing. It’s not dry or overly sweet. Pulled pork- excellent. Juicy. Good cut of meat. All the BBQ flavors- incredible.
As a bonus, they offer on the menu 2 incredible side items: Self Esteem and Attitude. I recommend getting a side of attitude.

I have been to this BBQ place twice this week. Both times were a disaster. I order the brisket sammie, with blueberry Bbq sauce the first time. What I got was a Brisket sammie with burbon bbq sauce. Which was to spice and I couldn’t eat it, and half the sandwich had no sauce at all. Today I ordered a pulled pork sammie with blueberry bbq sauce. Again no sauce in the center. And are fries were burned. Oh and both times i asked for extra sauce!!!!
