Last stop I got the lamb barbacoa taco. It was disappointing. The lamb was fine, but it was all I tasted. And it was a single giant taco, that was awkward and difficult to eat without making a mess. It should have been a burrito. I was sitting at the bar and the bartender took my plate but never asked if I wanted anything else or brought my check.
I’m starting to wonder if it has new ownership. It seems to have really gone downhill recently.
It was flavorful but dry, and was also one taco, for twenty eight dollars.
Also the fries are practically inedible because the fryer oil is old. For the love of French fries Please get some fresh fryer oil.
We should have listened to the host when he suggested to sit in the dining area downstairs but we really wanted the balcony upstairs. There was seating there so that’s where we were taken. I was asking our waiter where he wants us to sit and he was just staring at us and mumbled something. Eventually I understood “anywhere”. Aside from us, there were two other tables up there so I assumed things would run smoothly. Nope.
When we were placing our order, there was no response from the waiter. When it came to ordering the wings, we had NO clue what he was saying because he was talking to low. It was such an uncomfortable experience with him. We ordered two pastas for the kids, brisket, wings as a starter and then 3 adult entrees. We asked for plates when the appetizers came and the person handing it to us was just staring into a void. One of them almost fell.
The brisket was soft but it lacked flavor. The wings were pretty good. They forgot one of the kids pasta and we asked for it again to only be looked at confused by the runner. Eventually we got it. My entree was the shrimp, cilantro rice, and the jalapeño cornbread. The shrimp sucked. There was a weird flavor and smell to them. The cilantro was ice was the best thing on the table so definitely get it. Everyone agreed. The cornbread tasted like regular corn bread. You didn’t get any hint of jalapeño or heat. They forgot the fries to my husband’s plate too. The cocktail drink was weak but good.
When we asked for the check, the process was super slow and it wasn’t even busy. At this point, there were only two tables occupied. I took the kids and left to head to the carousel because they were growing bored.
There are definitely other places where the quality of food is better and it’ll match the price.
My only criticism is I would have liked to see a combo plate for one, so I could try a couple small portions of different meats, amd sides, everything was a la carte or huge sharable platters.
Still outstanding food, will be back!
