Well, worth the short trip off the interstate at the Alcolu Lou Manning exit! This is classic South Carolina barbecue and hash, always fresh. I suggest the buffet if you don’t know what to get. The building has been refurbished inside and out and is spotlessly clean.

The food was not good. I used to love the barbecue and hash here. I also loved their coleslaw, but it tasted like it was just thrown together. I don’t know if it was just a bad day they were having or if that’s how it is now. I’m gonna try and give another chance because this food used to be spectacular. The hush puppies were small and hard as rocks. So underwhelming and disappointing. The yams were the only good thing on the plate.

Please, if you are traveling on I95 between the Northeast and Florida and you are breaking your ride, break it near there. DO NOT eat the crummy hotel breakfast and go directly there, pay for the buffet and be taken to a special place.
Everything is good. Eat everything. Definitely have hash, definitely have fried chicken, eat bbq! Have it without the sauce first.

Very good BBQ. Hash is really good. All the sides have good flavor as well. They give you plenty of food in a plate. It’s actual pulled pork also. It’s not shredded up like most places around here. Probably some of the best bbq in this state. Well worth the drive from anywhere to try. Come early. Just a heads up. They only take cash though.
