After starting the day off right with a workout and before heading back home to Philly, we knew we had to get something to eat. I’d looked possible brunch places, saw this one and, based on the menu and reviews, suggested we check this place out. So glad we did!
When we got there, it was definitely busy and we were nervous it would be a super long wait. But thankfully they told us it would be maybe 15 minutes and I feel like it was less time than that. Staff were all friendly and we really liked our waiter – shout-out to Dre. He had good energy, helpful suggestions on menu choices, was great at checking in at the right times, and both felt he did a really get job serving and engaging us throughout brunch. Based off his recommendations when I asked about drinks, I got the Sunrise Mimosa and my boyfriend got the Rum Punch Mimosa. Both were amazing! They definitely tasted like a great balance of a mimosa and the cocktail within its name. And the second round of those drinks we ordered somehow tasted better to us. Not the food, absolutely delicious! I got the Crab Benedict (at recommendation of our waiter), he got the Make Your Own Omelette and we shared a side of grits. Everything was served at the perfect temperature, great flavor and well seasoned (especially the potatoes)… We had no complaints.
Recommend anyone looking for brunch in New Castle or Wilmington to come here as fast as possible! I hope to go back again to try more menu items.

Taking a Road Trip has its challenges – the biggest one being where to find a good meal. We were lucky enough to have our concierge (Quiana at The Hampton Inn Newark, DE) give us an enthusiastic referral for Urban Kitchen in Wilmington, Delaware. We didn’t just get a good meal – they provided a GREAT meal! That came with an outstanding server Ameerah whose smile was warm and welcoming!
After looking at the menu, we decided to order 3 of Urban Kitchen’s signature dishes. We started with the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls with Sriracha Ketchup – and it did not disappoint! The size of the appetizer should have been our first clue to the epic portions that were to follow. The egg rolls were bursting with authentic cheesesteak flavor all wrapped up in a crispy dough that came with sriracha ketchup that complemented the egg rolls instead of over-powering them. Chef Kiss!
Our entrees came with a choice of soup or salad – we opted for salads – as well as warm bread and butter. The salads were ginormous! They were also cold, crisp and fresh. I opted for the Caesar Salad and I have to say, this is the first time in a long time that I didn’t have to hunt for the parmesan cheese. Thank-you.
My husband had the Chicken Croquettes with mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce and 2 vegetable sides. One of his sides was mixed vegetables. If you’re thinking about the standard peas and carrots – that didn’t happen here. Instead, he received a medley of sauteed vegetables that were obviously fresh not frozen! The veggies were the perfect side to the croquettes that were perfectly seasoned.
I opted for the Mile High Meatloaf. And I’m drooling just thinking about it! The creamy mashed potatoes and perfectly seasoned meatloaf came together with a beef gravy that was flavored with fresh mushrooms and peppers and then topped with perfect onions rings. And by perfect onion rings I mean the kind that have the right breading and were cooked at the right temperature so that the onion and the breading stay together for the perfect bite.
This is destination food. Make Urban Kitchen in Wilmington, Delaware a part of your next road trip. For sure it will be a part of ours!

I visited this Urban Kitchen for the first time today. They have me hooked now lol. At first I was discouraged because the place was packed! But the service was quick.
I went in company of 3 other ladies – we didn’t reserve seats, but got ushered in, in less than 10mins.
Food was great! Service was great as well. I will definitely be back!

We stumbled into this place this afternoon and boy were we content when we left. The staff were lovely, food was good and came out fresh & hot and the prices were decent. We did have to wait a little for a table but I can see it was worth it. Will be back again. Kim was our waitress and her sister was in the section next to us. Made the experience even better!

This was my 1st time here and the food was delicious and plenty. The service was excellent once seated and with that being said, I highly suggest you call ahead of time to be placed on a waiting list. The restaurant itself is not very spacious and can’t really accommodate the high traffic they get but that is a testimony to how good the food is and worth waiting for. So if you’re ever in the area stop in and treat yourself.

Always the very best experience and food. We’ve looked first to returning since our first visit over a year ago while visiting some historic locations. The food is superbly done. It’s seriously a first class operation. I almost wish I had gotten one of their skillets, they’re huge and looked so amazing but or choices were as always soooo 100% delicious. You just can’t get everything, you have to come back time and again and I just can’t wait until the next time. My wife had their incredible Reubin and I had the fabulous Rib Eye, French Dip. Wow they were sooo, do good and our waiter was simply class

Good evening Google Family. I visited for the first time after my incredible weights workout at the Edge Fitness Center in Pike Creek. I needed to kill time since I wished to purchase a few items from Buff City Soap but they didn’t open till 11 am. and it was 9:30 am. I decided to eat breakfast and I wanted grits. I googled nearest breakfast places and then this spot came up. I decided to come here. I was seated quickly in a nice two seat booth. The hostess was nice and smiled. The server was named Caryl. She asked if I wanted a drink. I was checking out the menu. They had a drinks menu plus a regular menu. I wanted some pumpkin hot chocolate without the alcohol. They could’t make it without the alcohol. So I just ordered the hot chocolate. It came with whipped cream, but I did not know that until I looked at the menu and saw the picture. I did not want the whipped cream, but I ate it anyway. The server did not ask me did I want the whipped cream, it should have been an option. I ordered shrimp and grits. They had it with cheese, onions and peppers, but I only wanted plain shrimp and grits without all the trimmings. They serve it on a skillet, which I thought was different. I ate it all, I was so hungry!!! Thank goodness, it was what I asked for, PLAIN!!! I started talking to a young man who was dining alone. His name was Jim and now we are following each other on Facebook. Its amazing the things that can happen when you open your mouth. Urban Kitchen is a bit noisy, not quiet and intimate that I like my restaurants. It has been there about five years, Jim told me. I had a good experience here. Not sure if I would return again though, on account of the noise, lol. This is not a good choice for a romantic dinner, thats for sure, lol. Have a good night, Family, workout, be healthy, fit and Fabulous!!! I paid cash for my order. It was $22.50.
Wanted to add that they have two unisex restrooms. Clean and neat.

This was a long time coming. I had been wanting to go but it was aways busy. Bow I see why the food was food and the service was great however it is not a quiet spot most of the time so be ready for the chatter of satisfied patrons. I sat at the bar today only spot that was able for 1 person and it was tight but food made up for it. Bar tender Phil was a nice man but a meal will be pricey so keep it in mind

I ain’t here 2 days in a row the second day I had the French toast. It was seriously the best breakfast I’ve ever had in my entire life. If you like a sweet breakfast like that I highly recommend getting it. The first day I have the avocado eggs benedict. It was good, not near as good as I he french toast.
