Inspired by New Orleans’s stimulating cuisine and our love for cooking, we dreamed of bringing our delicious South American empanadas to town. Empanola was born in 2017, allowing us to see our project manifest. Bringing to our customers Latin-inspired, Louisiana-influenced, and lots of vegetarian flavors. Since then we have been a local favorite. We hope you enjoy them anytime and everywhere

A Hidden Gem on Magazine Street!

This spot has absolutely perfected the art of the empanada — light, flaky pastry with a wide variety of delicious fillings, from savory proteins to creative flavor combinations. Each empanada comes with its own dipping sauce, and every pairing was spot-on.

Their Pisco Sour was also excellent — even without the traditional egg, the flavor was so balanced and smooth you’d barely notice the difference.

The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and relaxed — perfect for grabbing a cool drink and people-watching along Magazine Street. Definitely one of my new favorite go-to spots in New Orleans!

I had an amazing experience at this locally owned Spanish restaurant on Magazine Street in the Garden District! As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to find delicious options — I tried their Mushroom and Cheeseone, and man oh man, it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the whole experience even better. A true hidden gem in New Orleans — highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic flavors and warm hospitality! ✨

These are probably some of the best empanadas I’ve ever had! I loved that they had something for everyone – traditional flavors, Louisiana flavors, vegetarian, and even 2 vegan options. They came out nice and hot, and the sauces were a great addition. To finish it off, they also have dessert options! Highly recommend, especially if looking for a quicker meal.

Delicious empanadas with a variety of flavors! Grabbed a six pack so I can sample and share them. They’re a bit pricey, but worth the price!

Great service and the interior was nice and clean. Just good vibe all around.

We were back in NOLA for a visit this weekend. We don’t live here but we have come here more than 30 times. The great thing about this town is every time you come, you find another bar or restaurant that becomes a must-have, go to for the next time.

On this visit, the place that became the go to for future trips was Empanola!! We were just having a nice afternoon walk down Magazine before our dinner reservation and saw Empanola and said that looks interesting let’s go check it out. Really cool and cozy place with a ton of different empanadas, from classic to unique. We got 4 to go (because we were about to have supper). They smelled so good, it was all we could do not to spoil our dinner. We took them back to the hotel room and put them in the fridge then heated them in the microwave for breakfast. Let me tell you… they were still awesome and delicious and super flavorful. I can only imagine how good they are when eaten fresh from the oven. My wife and I have definitely found a new love in NOLA!!!

The Chilean beef empanada with cilantro lime sauce was delicious! Some of the best (and most reasonably priced!) food I have had in a long time. Service was great and vibes were good. Will definitely be back!

Fabulous empanadas. The crawfish one is a MUST. Got the cilantro sauce to go with these two and it was a match made in heaven.

I was unsure of what to get but the person there was very polite when I needed help deciding on which ones to get. I got the spinach artichoke, buffalo chicken, chicken Peruvian, mushroom and cheese empanadas. I absolutely loved each one especially with the creamy green sauce and the chimichurri sauce. Before I leave, I’m making this a must stop by because their food was amazing!

We came in very close to closing and the gentleman behind the counter stayed after and was so patient with us. Amazing service. We tried 4 empanadas and the tres leches and everything was very good. My favorite was the beef one and his was the cheeseburger. Best tres leches we have ever had!

Came in and the music got me wanting to learn how to salsa or bachata. The 2 people working were so sweet and very helpful with my questions about the many flavors. There’s a wide variety of flavors that can be very simple to very complex and some flavor combos I’ve never heard of like guava and cheese. The empanadas themselves were DELICIOUS. My favorite was the Asian dumpling wow. They came to us quickly too so overall 10/10 would recommend.
