Thank you!
I can’t say enough about how much I love Bobs. We learned our lesson and we’ll be staying loyal to them from here on out.
My friends and I took our wives out for Valentine’s Day and decided on Bob’s Steak and Chop House. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, perfect for a special evening. The service was also excellent.
We started at the bar for some drinks before being seated. While my Old Fashioned was a miss, the food more than made up for it. I decided to go for the bone-in pork chop to switch things up, and my wife ordered the sea bass.
The bone-in pork chop was cooked to perfection—medium, just the way I like it—and it was dripping with delicious juices. The apple sauce they paired with it was the perfect complement. As for the sea bass, it was incredible. I’m not one to order fish at a steakhouse, but this was soft, flaky, and absolutely delicious, served on top of a delightful avocado purée.
Overall, the food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. We’ll definitely be back!
The food, unfortunately, was just as underwhelming. The bread service started things off on the wrong foot, as the butter arrived rock solid and impossible to spread. The Caesar salad was completely overpowered by garlic, to the point where it was difficult to enjoy. Most disappointing of all, the filet—supposed to be the highlight of a steakhouse experience—was mediocre in both flavor and quality. It lacked the tenderness and richness you expect from a place with Bob’s reputation and price point.
Overall, the meal felt far below the standard we anticipated. Between the poor service and the subpar food, this visit was not worth the time or the cost. I wouldn’t return based on this experience.
I want to start out with service, Mario(Halloween character) was by far the best waiter we have ever had. I’m 56 years old and this dude was the best server I have ever been presented. WOW!!
He offered changed to the menu such as 2 extra shrimp on the appetizer, smaller wedge salad, vegetables instead of the included potato, on and on. This man was amazing at his job, I own a small company in Richardson and I wish I could find CS agents with his personality.
Now the food!!!!
It was not very good, and what do I mean by that? I had a New York strip, it was tough and not tough the way a New York strip usually is it tasted like a cheap frozen steak. My wife’s 12 oz filet was not as soft as normal high end filets usually are.
Now you might say, meeehhhh he doesn’t know a high end steak!
We constantly eat at Flemings, Ruth’s Chris and Capital Grill, the meat at those restaurants is a lot better.
The bacon bits taste like they are out of the little seasoning shake bottle you buy at Kroger. So unsatisfying it’s beyond words.
This restaurant should do better because they are wasting amazing staff on saltgrass quality food.
We didn’t bring this up to the waitstaff because it’s not their job to cook the low quality food the restaurant supplies.
The hostess informed us we were dressed too causal. We could eat, but wanted us to know for next time. She specifically said my husband should be in a collared shirt.
Back story. We decided to grab dinner after our sons high school football game. So we were in nice shoes, nice jeans & football T-shirts. I understand a dress code. But Thursday night, less than 25 people, maybe 10 tables seated.
I understand different owners, but how do you expect people to go to different locations and understand different dress codes.
After walking out the door, I went back inside. The manager came outside with me by the sign(see picture) to discuss. It’s sad because we will not be back. I love nice restaurants, and I love dressing up. But when did this industry become too good to take $.
Outside of the normal things restricted by most: tank top, flip flops, or shorts. I’m talking about nice jeans vs. no jeans and t-shirts vs. collared shirts.
What do you think about the topic of dress codes?
