Pier 31 is a unique open air bar and eatery with a wood fired pizza oven and a decent menu with good variety. We ordered 2 jumbo shrimp cocktails, 3 pizzas and a PB&J off the kid’s menu. We had about a whole pizza left to take home.
The service was great. Morgan was our lead server and even though the staff were young, their experience, energy and excellent teamwork created a first class dining experience.
This is a family friendly establishment and there are even games for kids (young and old) inside and out.
Plenty of dock space for locals to boat in, jump out and have lunch or dinner.
Highly recommended that you join in the fun!
Crusts on the wood fired pizzas were charred and toppings of cheese, pepperoni and garlic were as well … edible but not much better. All the pizzas were exceedingly oily ….. a sign of inferior cheese and over cooking to the point of separation.
Not recommending this location … EDIT: at this time. When/if we return this review may change.

EDIT: Bryan makes a good point – wood fired pizza is not for everyone. Knowing George Shenk since before he started American Flatbread and enjoying what may be the beginning of the popularity of wood fired pizza, I do judge all wood fired pizza against that Gold Standard.
I’m sorry it’s just true. No personality or distinctive anything. The water view and location are doing all the work here, plus your staff.
Give people a reason to come. Better food, better music, and something for your staff to look forward to: a busy restaurant that will get them a living wage.
