I was anxious for prime rib and made a reservation for last Saturday. The menu link on their website did not work so I was going on a previous post showing $21.99. We were seated without a menu and the server assumed what we wanted. Didn’t clarify the price. The tough prime rib was flavorless, served with a room temp baked potato, canned green beans and a smashed doughy roll. The salad is in a tiny bowl hard to cut without tipping over. The server brought the food quickly but we had to flag her down for the check to leave and that took 20 minutes. The big disappointment was the 34.99 cost! I will not be back.

Would give negative stars if allowed. The cook/owner? was loud & rude. Reading other comments I realize I’m not the only one thinking she needs to adjust her attitude. My husband ordered pork chops & her loud reaction was “of course they’d order pork chops!” Well if you don’t want to serve them don’t put em on your menu. She was yelling for orders to be picked up as the only waitress was trying to seat people, take orders, bus tables, serve drinks while being embarrassed & yelled at! Cook was also ranting how she needed to be on a zoom call about the mail?! I get she probably works the mail room too, but if that’s the case, make arrangements for coverage. As we were finishing up a couple of other employees came in & she yells “no you can’t cook” as one had asked if they could help. Guess some people aren’t happy unless they have issues to deal with… don’t we all? Was excited to have a place to eat while staying at Black Rock RV, but we will not be back. Food was meh, no flavor. The waitress was very sweet under the added pressure of the kitchen bully. Wish I could have done more except leave a decent tip for her.

Stopped here for lunch on our way from Arizona to the California coast. It’s sort of in the middle of nowhere, but really excellent. I had a grilled chicken salad which was in a server size bowl. I couldn’t possibly have eaten the whole thing. The grilled chicken was delicious. The salad greens and fixings were fresh. The thousand Island salad dressing was good. My husband had a BLT with fries. Lots of bacon. Big sandwich. Generous portion of fries. Really good. Would stop here again.

They had Chicken Parmesan, Spaghetti, & Lasagna as the Special today, so I had the Lasagna and the toast with it was delicious. The lasagna had some good spices in it and it was perfect.

I’ve been here twice now. I come here for the prime rib. Saturday nights, you have to make reservations a day before. To let them know they’ll have enough.
I ordered my prime rib medium rare when it’s Fantastic comes Real horse radish. Baked potato, green beans, and small salad. The waitresses are great. People are very nice here. Love the Wall decorations Hand painted mural

We heard all the great reviews about the Saturday night Prime Rib. We decided to try it out and glad we did! $21.99 for dinner with salad or soup, meat, baked potato, vegetable and a dessert. We are staying at the RV park across the street so you can walk, ride your 4 wheeler or drive . We ate here last night as well . Club sandwich was huge. Recommend to anyone passing by!

We were pleasantly surprised on our visit to the Black Rock Cafe. We arrived mid afternoon and discovered they had a baked potato bar and salad bar – both reasonably priced. That’s what I had with more toppings and salad choices than I could eat. My husband had the half pound burger and fries and was very I’m impressed. We left full. Our waitress was super friendly and checked on us often. If we’re ever in this area again, we will be back.

For a small country restaurant, it holds its own against any others. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, and the portion was perfect. Baked potato, green beans, and salad complimented the meal very well.
Despite a very full house, the service was outstanding. You can’t go wrong dining here.
