Northern Indian fare, including a lunch buffet, is served in a subdued, white-tablecloth space.

I been to Saffron one or two times, it’s been a more than satisfying experience. I went a few nights ago. It was a really tasty meal. Me, my wife and sons all enjoyed the food. We ordered the butter chicken with lamb biryani, it was a touch spicy for our taste, but, we have very low tolerance as a family, so keep that in mind. I really appreciated the service, it was quick as can be. Overall, I recommend.

Live Laugh Love Saffron!!! This was my 3rd or 4th time going to Saffron and my experience gets better every time! I started off with some wine, they were a little understaffed but as a member of the service industry, this wasn’t a crazy problem especially because it was Valentine’s day. The food was amazing! I ordered the butter chicken and lamb kebabs, it was PERFECTLY SEASONED. The servers are all so kind and I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!

So the food was good. It was clearly cooked authentically; I even bit into a cardamom pod. It was flavorful. A bit dry, but not terrible.
But… the portions were NOT good for the price. I was starving after my “half chicken” tandoori chicken that had three tiny bites of breast, one tiny drumstick, and a tiny thigh. It was so small.
And worst of all, they make you pay $2.50 for rice. That means that a curry dish was $19.50 when you include rice (no one eats curry without rice, and no, it doesn’t come with naan). $19.50??? What kinda sorcery is this charging nearly $20 for a small portion size??? The food wasn’t even terrible but it feels like you’re being scammed.

This was genuinely the SINGLE WORST dining experience I have ever had. I made a reservation for Valentine’s Day and when I called they told me that they still had reservations for 8pm, however, this was a LIE as we still had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated. After our drink orders were taken, they came out relatively quick, but then we had to wait about an HOUR before being asked about food. After having our orders taken, we then had to wait ANOTHER HOUR before being served a DIFFERENT TABLES FOOD! At one point we even asked our waiter for an ETA on the food and he told us 10 more minutes (ANOTHER LIE). After being served someone else’s food, a different waitress then came to our table to tell us that they had run out of lamb, so my girlfriend had to change her order from the lamb hussaini to the chicken tikki masala and when were told it would take the same amount of time to prepare (which for us was a HOUR). Another couple approached our table and said that they wished they had left sooner, so when decided that, instead of waiting for however long it would take for the tikki masala, we would just leave. We got up and told them that were going to leave, but they insisted that they would have the food out shortly and would give it to us in a to-go bag. We were handed the bill and they told us that took the drinks off for our trouble, and when I looked at the bill, the drinks were off but the lamb hussaini was still on there even though we had to change it to the chicken tikki masala, which was 2 dollars cheaper. I brought this up to the waiter and he told me he wouldn’t change the lamb hussaini because “we already took off the drinks”. In retrospect, I should’ve pushed back on this because they were trying to overcharge me, but I was exhausted and wanted to go home, so I decided not to press the issue. We got our to-go back and went home dejected, but at least we had food, or at least I did because THEY DIDN’T GIVE US THE CHICKEN TIKKI MASALA! THE CHICKEN TIKKI MASALA THAT THEY CHARGED US 2 DOLLARS EXTRA FOR WAS MISSING FROM OUR ORDER! I went back to the restaurant to bring this up, and they refunded 20 dollars from my order and gave me a free dessert. But honestly, after all that, I don’t feel as if that made up for how bad of an experience we had. Especially since the food wasn’t even that good in the end. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Do not eat here.

Group of 4 (2 couples). Came in for a late Valentine’s Day dinner and they were super accommodating. It was clear they were understaffed but service was pretty fast considering all the factors. They did an excellent job providing vegetarian options and it was an overall amazing experience. This was my 1st time going and we didn’t have reservations. The food was delicious and authentic. I would highly recommend.

Everything was great about this place. We drove from Grand Rapids for a last-minute birthday dinner. We arrived about twenty minutes before closing, and this still took us, which was so cool since we were truly excited to eat here.
Amazing food, beautiful presentation. If I hadn’t been so hungry I would have gotten photos but we devoured their vegetarian sampler like no other. We ended up barely touching our food because we were completely satisfied with just the pita bread and sampler. Plus, I truly did feel bad that we showed up late. Anyway, this place is an experience. Please check them out if you love authentic REAL food.

Saffron Indian Cuisine in Kalamazoo is a nice spot with a good ambiance. The food is okay, but it was missing some flavors and wasn’t as spicy as I expected. The menu has a good variety, with options for both vegetarians and meat lovers. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you have a pleasant dining experience. I would come again and try some different dishes next time. If you’re in the area and craving Indian food, it’s worth a visit!

Came in for a Valentine’s Day dinner. Service was a little bit slow, but we didn’t mind because it gave us time to chat. They were evidently understaffed for tonight, but the food was worth the wait, as it was delicious. Overall, it’s unrealistic to expect no wait with or without a reservation on Valentine’s Day. Owners were also super kind about the whole situation, and the jazz background music fit atmosphere of the restaurant well, made the wait not so bad after all. Patience is a virtue!

Really loved the food, prices were reasonable, the staff was nice enough to warn me what scale of spicy my food was before I ordered it (and it was amazing).
There were a lot of different choices and foods that I hadn’t tried before, so was able to sample a good amount of dishes and a spicy yogurt drink that I really enjoyed, and the dessert was really refreshing. Staff was very attentive without being overly pushy as well.

it was my first time going there I placed a phone order for a vegetarian dish that was sweet and savory, and I had cheese masala with rice and in a a in bread and vegetable samosas… The masala was too sweet and the cheese did not complement the dish the NAAN bread was burnt.… The vegetable Samosa was OK and taste. It had a spicy sauce that was good. The other sauce was nasty and it smelled nasty… The only thing that tasted good was the rice. I will not be visiting this restaurant again very disappointed I’ve had other Indian food and it was cheaper and tasted way better and they had rice included in their dish. This place has the rice as a separate item to purchase.
