Prices were pretty high but probably normal for Quail Hill. I definitely enjoyed the food though and will be back to try more.
Man, this is some REALLY good food. We shared 3 plates with us and it was a good amount of food for everyone. We had the chicken & waffles; pork jowl; and bacon avocado eggs Benedict. The souffle takes like 40 minutes to make so we had to pass on that due to the timing.
By the time we left, at 10:20 am, there was a line out the door. With a rainy weekend, that is no easy feat for any restaurant.
Chicken & Waffles: they provided a sweet & sour sauce for the chicken. It was good but im not sure if entirely necessary. The chicken itself was thick and juicy thigh and tasted really good. The breading was so crunchy.
Pork jowl: such a nice fatty cut and it was seasoned so lightly and tasted really good. The vegetables were not seasoned so that added a nice complement. The sauce and spices they used kept the protein lighter compared to how fatty the cut is.
Bacon avocado eggs benedict: the hollandaise is INCREDIBLE!!! wow. Lots of spices. I could lick that by the bowl. I wish the hollandaise came out hot. It came out cold. Overall though, it was really tasty and the diced potatoes were cooked perfectly. Crispy on all sides.
We were informed that the drinks, souffle, crab roll, and desserts were not a part of their grand opening special. I would say they are very generous with their GO discount and the food is very good to consider for another day.
All in all, definitely am interested in coming back on another day! I had to fight the urge to not order to go.
Very happy to have such a wonderful Thai restaurant close by, and excited to try more of their dishes, as everything we ordered was absolutely packed with flavor and very delicious.
My husband got the basil omelet (I’m sure I’m butchering the name of this) which was packed with Thai basil infused ground meat (pork?) in a light fluffy omelet with a piece of French toast and a salad on the side. He could not stop exclaiming about how light the eggs were and the texture being perfectly cooked. The meat was so flavorful inside!
I got the khao soi with chicken, a favorite dish of mine that I can never seem to find on local menus of the Thai restaurants we’ve tried. It was so good the broth deeply fragrant and piping hot, with the rich, lusciousness you associate with coconut based broths but seasoned perfectly with a hit of spice, tang, sweetness, and savory umami goodness. There were two chicken legs in it and a decent portion of pickled veggies, red onion, and crispy noodles on top of perfectly cooked egg noodles! I have had a couple overcooked noodle soups recently so I was delighted that the noodles here even in their piping hot broth had excellent chew and texture to them.
We also shared the soufflé pancakes which they quoted to us as having a 40 minute wait, but came out much more quickly around 20 minutes after we ordered. They were so light and fluffy and not too sweet even with the generous portion of their whipped cream and berry compote poured over the top.
We also each tried a matcha, one ube and one coconut. They were both a fun treat! We arrived at the perfect time because after we left we saw a giant line even in the rain! They dealt well with the influx of customers, even though I can imagine some people may have been put off by the wait time. For us, I’d say it would definitely be worth the wait!
We are so happy to have a really great option for Thai food in the area! We’ll absolutely be back soon.
All of our three dishes came out separately, first about 10 min apart, and then almost 15 min apart. I think the kitchen needs training on how to serve the party’s entrees at the same time. And even tho it took so long to get our orders, everything was lukewarm. Not sure how that works?
Nothing tasted bad. Everything tasted good or OK, but maybe it would have tasted delicious if the dishes were hot. Only sharing this review so maybe Kinaree can do better.
We will be back to try the the other non-brunch items.
The service was OK. I’m not sure if they were shortstaffed. But our waiter only came to the table to take our food order and then to deliver the food and that was it.
I was also pretty disappointed in the Thai iced coffee they served. I never had Thai iced coffee and was super excited to try it. I asked our server if it was similar to Vietnamese coffee (strong and sweet) and he told me yes so that’s why I ordered it. It came out, I tried it and it tasted like chocolate milk. Super disappointed. I would like to give this place another try, but I feel like I would need to be pretty convinced.
