Walked past here a lot and decided to go in with my sister, needless to say I love it a lot! Prices are very affordable and cheaper than Panda Express since they have great food portions here. I am also in love with their sugar donuts they were so good! Their staff is also so nice and thoughtful and have a pleasant atmosphere with the traditional music and clean interior. Definitely will be back and recommend 🙂

I used to go here when I lived in the area over 30 years ago. I just moved back to the area and I’m delighted that they’re still here and still just as good. Had dinner there with my husband tonight and it was delightful! I had hot tea, chicken and rice soup, and the moo goo gai pan combination plate with fried rice and egg roll. My husband had the chicken and noodle soup and chicken fried rice. I loved the atmosphere with the soft Asian music in the background. They also give you orange slices for dessert. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and I’ll definitely be back for more!

Honestly way better than expected. The food was excellent. I’ve had pepper steak, crab rangoon and wonton soup. Everything had good quality ingredients.

I’ve only taken out but the interior looks super cozy and service has always been great.

Will be my go to when I have a craving for Chinese food.

First visit after reading a lot of positive reviews. I was craving beef with broccoli. Ordered lunch portion and since I don’t eat a lot, plenty leftover to take home. The broccoli was cooked perfectly. I would have liked a bit more “gravy.” My friend ordered shrimp chow mein, altho I believe she really wanted shrimp lo mein. She loved it even tho the chow mein was served with dry noodles instead of wet.

The parking lot is hard for me as I am mobility challenged, and use a cane due to poor balance. I’m sure paving would be a big expense, but it would make the restaurant more accessible. The only other negative I will cite is the carpet in the restaurant. It is far beyond it’s lifespan and needs to be replaced. Again, another big expense, and I know these are tough times.

We were the first customers of the day, and only one other person came in for a carry-out order during the time we were there. I think advertisement may be needed. Perhaps some coupons or specials posted outside?

The woman who greeted and seated us was smiling and very pleasant. The young man, whom I believe was the son of the woman, was not nearly as outgoing or pleasant. I got the feeling he would rather be doing anything else.

Our food was good and plentiful, and the pricing was fair by the current standards.

The food was mostly good. As most Chinese restaurants, the chicken is hit or miss. The egg rolls were delicious, and the crab Rangoon was one of my favorite. To me, it tasted like I was eating a cream filled doughnut. I had the General Tso’s with fried rice. It was pretty good. I will give it another try.

We were seated quickly. Server was quick with drinks. Their hot tea is oolong, my favorite. We ordered crab Rangoon 6 pcs. Crunchy on the outside and creamy sweet /savory on the inside. We had General TSO dinner and bourbon chicken. The portions were large enough that we had leftovers for today’s lunch. The cold orange slices were refreshing. The restaurant is clean and employees are kind. Thank you for making dinner.

A quite, clean, family owned restaurant. Food is tasty and decently priced. A quite little location for a nice bite.

True Score- 2.8/5 Stars

After a tough week, and moving back to Hamilton, we decided to order some Asian style cuisine. Asian Lantern is a small, yet awesome restaurant. Unfortunately, for me, the food just wasn’t as good as the building.

(Forgot to take pics so sorry for the bad one attached) I ordered the General Tso’s combo with white rice, and my fiancè ordered the Orange chicken combo, but subbed the rice for lo mein noodles. Both orders of chicken suffered the same- just not enough flavor. The chicken itself is cooked VERY well, and is meaty and tender. The breading is also firm and hardly with any bristle. The problem is, the sauce just wasn’t flavorful on each dish. The flavor was too faint for us. The lo mein noodles were also very bland, and pretty dry.

The combos with the lo mein substitute and a can of dr pepper ran me about 21 dollars on takeout, so no tax. I’m all for supporting a local business, but the food just did not justify the price. Although, I don’t think the pricing is absurd or anything.

Service was great. The guy working the register was very sociable and my food was packaged very, very neatly.

Facilities are the best part. Ample seating, and LOOKED clean. I got takeout, so I am not certain. Also, the sign says you can BYOB, so thats dope. I think coming here on a weeknight with some buddies to sit and hang would be ideal.

Overall, pretty average. Wasn’t blown away, but I would definitely give it another shot. I would describe the food as serviceable, and it really has potential to be a great little restaurant. Support small businesses, people!

NOTE: Star rating based on my own formula consisting of flavor, cost, facilities, service, and overall satisfaction. Reviews are subject to change based on future visits.
