Chai tea and the madras coffee were beyond amazing. The lamb biryani my husband got was very robust in the flavors. The goat tiki masala was perfection in a dish, the meat slid off the bone perfectly and the spices were perfect for medium spice. Hands down the best Indian food I have ever had!! I highly recommend this place!!

We drove 40 minutes for Indian food and it was worth the drive. The flavors are excellent and they have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! The employees/owner are so kind and thoughtful. They gave our 3 year old son a pack of Pringles before we got our food and they were so kind to him. I have never had Indian food before so I was nervous and it was out of my comfort zone to try new things but this was probably the best meal I’ve ever had! It was very affordable for a great experience. They also gave our son a lollipop before we left. I highly recommend this place! So worth the experience. I will be telling friends and locals!

Came by today for lunch and was immediately seated. Ordered the Chicken Tikka Saag and Naan Bread. There were 4 or 5 levels or head, and so I decided to go with the American hot instead of the Indian hot. Let me tell you, it was HOT. Not extreme, but just right. Serving dive was also just right and server was attentive. Overall great experience at this establishment and would recommend to others. Just be cautious of you heat tolerance.

Henning’s Taste of India is a true hidden gem in Moore County. The food is absolutely amazing—my girlfriend ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, and I went with the Goat Vindaloo. Both dishes were rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care, and they came out surprisingly fast.
What makes this spot stand out is the atmosphere. It’s not in a high-traffic area, so it never feels crowded or hectic. Most of the business seems to be takeout, which makes dining in feel more intimate and peaceful—perfect for actually enjoying your meal and conversation without the usual restaurant noise.
If you’re looking for authentic Indian food, generous portions, and a comfortable, low-key vibe, Henning’s Taste of India is definitely worth a visit.

We hadn’t had Indian food in a veeeery long time and this was SO much better than any other I’ve had. The Chicken Tikka Masala was so creamy, rich, and still so beautifully seasoned. The Lamb Rogan Josh (which I had never had before) was phenomenal, you could really taste a wonderful balance of onion, lamb, and ginger. That lamb was so tender! (And the Naan bread, oh yes, very good)
We did take out, and the service was lovely. Very kind and courteous man on the phone . If the rest of the service is like that, I’d gladly dine in next time.

Authentic and amazing Indian food! Butter chicken was very good, a little sweet full of flavours. The biriany rice was very fluffy, cooked perfectly with big shrimps! Garlic naan was so so good, hot and smells amazing… And they had Guinness on tap! Staff very kind and friendly. We’ll definitely come back.

Yesterday was my first time eating at this place. I was sat at a table and was given water. After looking through the menu for about five minutes, my server, Joy, took my order, lamb vindaloo with regular naan bread. He asked me how spicy I wanted the vindaloo. There were four levels: mild, hot, spicy, and very spicy. He recommended for vindaloo that it would be spicy or very spicy, so I went with spicy. He also recommended that garlic naan bread would be perfect with the vindaloo, but I declined this time. Since it wasn’t very busy, I did not have to wait long for my food. Everything was delicious! The seasoned rice, the spicy vindaloo, and the regular naan bread were all delicious. Joy said he would be willing to make more meal recommendations the next time I came around. I spent $26 for my meal, which is understandable with the quality of the food. There are not many Indian restaurants in my area but this is a good restaurant.
