Either this location is making up their own rules, or the staff hasn’t been trained on the company’s actual policy. Not a huge deal, but it’s frustrating when employees confidently give incorrect information. Hopefully management can clarify the refill policy with their team.
We’ve been to hundreds of Starbucks nationwide, and this was REFRESHING!
It seemed like a “new model” they were trying out…. that intense, really!!!!
I met up with another mom and her child, and one of the staff approached us and offered us high chairs, another cups with whipped crème. I thought this place was very child friendly in the past, as I’d struggle to find a clean restroom with a clean changing table and table liners, and this was one of the very few places I’ve been to in the Central TX area that could offer those restroom amenities.
My friend’s child was doing developmentally normal, typical, baby screeching (not crying) and we were approached by a staff member, “you probably can’t do anything about it, but there are people trying to have meetings.” We decided to promptly leave and cleaned up our area. I could feel the sting of embarrassment from my mom friend who desperately needed a break and to feel “normal.”
I will say, if you have a very young child, it’s probably best to buy your coffee locally at a place like Chemn Cafe (which has more variety, better quality, and more zero-caffeine barista options) which does have a child’s play area, and understands the nuances of child development. When my daughter was very vocal like my friend’s daughter, we were met with smiles and excitement. Of course, all patrons are entitled to have a space to relax and enjoy coffee, but after the remark to my friend, this certainly isn’t a place I’d come back to again while my child remains young or even at all. There are other Starbucks locations, albeit a further drive. And there are other coffee shops in the Central TX area that are more inclusive of very young kids. This location isn’t a local coffee shop I’d recommend for adults with younger, vocal children. Otherwise if you have older kids, or you’re coming to this location to have a meeting, need a coffee through the drive thru, or/and supporting small, local businesses isn’t a priority, this is fine place to visit.
I don’t know why it matters to me so much that they used my name, but it was personal and kind and made me feel valued. When someone pays attention to the little details like that, I can’t help but believe that they’re going get everything else right with my order.
I highly recommend this Starbucks. Faith was the one who took care of my order. She was amazing.
For great conversation and making sure that drink was done to my liking, and Ray Was super friendly and helpful. Definitely would come back again!
