A friend recommended this spot, so I swung by to try a few things. The soup dumplings were easily the highlight—super homey, warm, and hit the spot. I also had the spicy noodles, which were solid.
However, I’d skip the sliced beef next time. It was served cold and felt pretty bland. I was surprised by the thick layer of cold fat on the meat; without any tendon or seasoning to balance it out, the texture was a bit tough to get through. Not really what I’m used to, so it wasn’t for me.

The food is amazing! We were sitting where we could actually see them making out soup dumplings (That’s not what they call them but it’s how I remember them, sorry about that). Algiers of the food was so delicious. We went there for Christmas dinner. There was so much food we had leftovers for Christmas Day, too. Highly recommend!

A new location in the new downtown fremont.
Parking may be a bit difficult in front but there are parking lots on the side.
The entrance is at the corner of the building
Their dumplings and wontons are the best of the location and definitely has good flavor
Overall great place to dine for both families and couples!

The food was decent. By Bay Area standards, everything was just fine, but no stand-outs. Here’s the thing: dining out is about more than just the food. Yes, the freshness & quality of the ingredients is certainly important, as is preparation and presentation. Again, those things were fine. But the customer service, as well as the overall ambiance in the restaurant, was not great. Which meant the overall EXPERIENCE wasn’t great.
Full-service restaurants are a dying thing. I know it’s hard to run such a place. I guess that’s why everyone orders take-out and delivery. It’s a shame, because I love going out and eating IN a restaurant.
Please pay more attention to your customer service—the guest experience—and the environment that you create inside the restaurant. This “could” be something great.
Fremont desperately needs more locally owned/operated, full-service restaurants. Not chains, not cheesy franchised fast-food or fast-casual “order at a kiosk” and pick up at a counter type places. But if it’s going to be full-service, please put some more effort into training staff, and creating a more friendly, more interesting and inviting atmosphere for those of us spending our hard-earned money for an evening out. Thanks.

Despite being a spacious place, there was a crowd waiting to be seated so prior booking is recommended.
One places orders here by ticking off on a printed menu list and handing it over to the hostess. The dishes are served very hot, typical of this type of cuisine and in quick succession with a ticking off of the dish that has been served. We had a combination of vegetable starters such as garlic spinach and mushrooms in vinegar, spicy noodles soup and a few meat dishes including dumplings and chicken wings. The service was very quick and efficient, the dishes not too spicy and authentic.

So push ,bring too much pressure let peoples around us to check the bills , have not finished yet , try to kick us out ASAP

After a while automatically helped us pack and clean our table directly
Poor service , understand you need to turn the table to make more money

Great food at a good price, the restaurant also has a nice atmosphere to it. It can get pretty busy during dinner, but nothing too crazy. I recommend their Fried Rice and String Bean dishes. Although the trophy goes to the Chocolate Xiao Long Bao! Highly recommend it!

The Ma La’ spices that has a numb feeling aftertaste’ starter side is much tastier than the diced potatoes served in the old location.
Sweet and sour Cucumber appetizer was ok, kind of bland.
The XLB is good, dumpling wrapper is on the chewy side. They totally forgot to give us the shredded ginger that goes with the vinegar. Something that never happened at a XLB place.
The braised Beef Brisket noodle soup is good but broth is on the light side, not as concentrated as the Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup.
Piggy custard Bao, very chewy and doughy. cute little pig though.
Updated: leftover XLB has small bone fractures in the filling. Maybe just a bad batch.

Good, juicy XLB, but tomato egg noodle sauce was too heavy/sweet/greasy. Noodles were a little thin too and didn’t have that nice chew.
The wok fried chicken noodle with chestnut was also too oily. The flavor was decent, but overall the pairings of the noodles and the chicken/other toppings was something I found to be unharmonious.
The waiters however were very nice and attentive, so overall I’d say this is a decent place in Fremont for XLB, but maybe skip the noodles.
