It’s a hit or miss place. Rarely good but when it’s good it’s really good. Most of the time they give very small portions so it’s not worth what you pay. Never consistent on taste or quality of food. And just like most fast food restaurants if you ask for something like extra dressing they wanna charge you, as if it was coming out of their pay check. Saying they can only give 1. As you can see this is what I got for a full salad. Barely covered the bottom of the tray and not worth the price. And the salad was watered down wet so when you add dressing it’s so watered down and not tasteful.

For what it is, Ono really is a great Hawaiian BBQ chain.
I’ve tried a lot of local chains and still overall I think Ono is a bit better.
Chicken is great, beef is alright, and seafood it’s mid but still decent.
Really solid mac salad as well.
Pricing as well is quite fair and they have coupons on some occasions so even better.

The food is very good, I recognize it, but they don’t do what you ask for. I asked for my dishes extra cooked since I have a medical condition and I have to make sure that my meat is well cooked, which was not the case. It seems like I told them with raw meat, I could not eat my entire plate since they did the opposite. The employees should understand that when you ask for your food extra cooked, it is not to bother them or give them more work, it is simply for some reason. I hope they try to understand and do it since one is aware that the order will take a while, that is not the problem for me.

Food is always delicious. Place is clean and staff were nice. BBQ mix platter is my go to, but this time there were less vegetables. I love their vegetables it’s always steamed to the correct crunchiness. It’s alright since the meat made the meal.

We ordered through Uber Eats and got three different combos, two of which included chicken katsu. Unfortunately, neither order came with katsu sauce, which is a key part of the dish. Chicken katsu without sauce is dry, and the sauce should come automatically with the meal — it shouldn’t need to be specially requested.
We contacted store, and while everyone was polite, we were told there was nothing they could do to fix it or offer. That was disappointing, especially since this was a basic oversight that significantly affected the meal.
We’ve ordered from here before and like the food, but missing essentials like this — and having no resolution — makes the experience frustrating.

The food is so good and fresh there’s so many things to choose from you don’t want to keep coming back I like the katsu and BBQ mix plate mixed veggies rice and macaroni is the best my boyfriend have the aloha plate with the fire shrimp it was delicious as well we always share with each other it’s a good way to find out what different foods taste like

I got the Island Spice Grilled Fish because of a promotion where it only cost me $7 + tax. Good portion for the amount I paid. Not sure if I would ever pay full price for this which is $13.99 + tax. The promotion worked which made me discover this restaurant chain.
The taste of the food was good, but I wouldn’t say amazing. It also wasn’t spicy at all even though it is supposed to be spice fish. Removing one star for that.
Everything else seemed standard for a fast food restaurant like the seating and decor. However, their regular prices should warrant a more luxury interior.
Will come back for the right price/promotion.

Ono is my go to for Hawaiian BBQ. The portion size at this location is amazing. I ordered take out, two Hawaiian BBQ Mix and substituted the mac salad for fresh mixed salad for an additional 25 cents each. (Just trying to be healthier) The chicken was very tender and packed with flavor. Loved the short ribs, a bit sweet but very savory. The beef was okay, usually a hit or miss it, sometimes its very juicy and tender, other times it is a bit dried out. The beef sliced thin, so it is easy to overcook.
On the side near the soda machines you can fill up your own teriyaki and katsu sauce. They have small cups and lid for you take out. For me, one teriyaki and one katsu sauce was enough for a plate. The meat is already flavorful so I didn’t need to overly sauce it.
If it is your first time here, I recommend the Hawaiian BBQ plate that way you get to try a bit of each. I tried the seafood in the past, I thought it was okay.

I am so sad to write such a low review. I eat Ono all the time in Arizona and I have never had it so bad like this place. The sauce on my chicken was obviously burnt and they still gave it to me. Altering the flavor completely. That’s why I’m giving them a one star. Fire the cook!
