First thing I would like to point out I did look up the reviews before going in. WITH THAT BEING SAID! The food was AMAZING! I did read some reviews that stated the portions were not “Hawian portions” however, in this economy I could not imagine giving “Hawian portions” without the concern of cutting it close to bankruptcy, so I give my respect there! We ordered alot of food so I will make 2 separate posts because I couldn’t wait and ate without the husband I ordered the bbq short ribs which were everything I ever wanted. I am a fat lover! So I was excited to see a moderate amount of fat on my ribs. (If you don’t like fatty beef maybe don’t order or save it for me for later) also ordered the poke bowl which I would personally rate a 4 – 5 star, the kimchi aioli was great! And a nice twist on poke. We felt it was missing maybe another sauce so we sqeezed a fresh lime over it and it seemed to add a little more flavor, Maybe next time we will add the mango salsa that was a topping offered .50 extra, we didn’t do it because it seemed strange but definitely regret not trying it out just because why not!?. All in all will be going back and maybe call in our order ahead of time because that seems to be what all the locals do and they were fairly busy with orders.

This place is incredible. The staff are friendly. The restaurant is clean. The only thing I wish is that the Katsu Chicken was a bit thicker, otherwise fantastic all around! Also, their mac salad is the best I’ve had at a Hawaiian BBQ joint in Reno!

i’ve gotten food from here 5 times in last couple weeks! my new go to place for when i’m ordering in. delicious and good for leftovers too since i’m a smol eater. BBQ beef and chicken katsu plates with mac salad and roasted veggies are YUM. gravy and fries are yum too. add some random cheese curds and y’all got a canadian over here happy

My friend and I got the most ridiculous excuse for a meal, my finger nail was thicker than the thin slice of an excuse of a piece of spam in my musubi and his chicken Katsu was clumped together Panko with lout a trace of meat.

I’d give 0 stars if i could. Used to be my go to hawaiin spot. Always had the best chicken katsu. Just ordered some today and it’s obvious it has new owners. Worst tasting katsu sauce, went from fresh pounded chicken that was freshly fried to pre-frozen chicken patties. Mac salad is some pre-made canned sauce. I wish the best for the previous cook/owners. Never go here

I have been in here multiple times for Maui janes Hawaiian BBQ, I always get the garlic shrimp with rice and the Hawaiian Mac salad and it never fails. It is maui janes as well as pinche tacos. Tonight I went in there with my boyfriend and we had the pleasure of meeting the new owner Adolfo. He is super sweet and was extremely accommodating, you can tell that he cares about his customers as well as the business. My boyfriend loves the maui burger. Tonight My boyfriend got cabasa and burria tacos (I probably spelled that wrong). He thought they were excellent, he loves to eat really spicy things and asked the owner for salsa or hot sauce and the owner went and made some for him in the back. Not only did he warn him that it might be really spicy, but he even had him try it before we left that way he knew that he could handle it and that he would be safe to go home and eat it. I would definitely recomend coming here.
