Great vibes! Nice outdoor and indoor seating, various food options and really good food. The service is mostly selfserv, but the guy was nice and served us food in the outdoor patio seating!

Brightwood Tavern has always been the mountain’s living room. Third generation just took over ownership and I’m thrilled that they now offer excellent home cooked food with daily specials and soups. It is a 21 and over bar.

It is also an excellent gathering spot for motorcycle runs and mountain bike events. Give the owners a call and make arrangements. I’m posting some photos from a motorcycle run stop. The service was outstanding with fresh hot food being served quickly.

It was impressive how many people they served and the food quality.

Neighborhood dive bar and they got it going on! The food is so much better than expected just being ‘out in the sticks’ and I truly recommend the hot dog; smoked, split, and simple but really really done well. Everyone else’s plates looked awesome and our salad was very fresh as well.

Service was excellent. I fail to remember her name but the daytime bartender was rockin’ it and so pleasant and friendly. A place where everyone knows each other and they welcome anyone new.

Things have been changing lately at the Brightwood Tavern. What was once a tight knit locals bar has really transitioned toward being a hub of food, drinks, and community on the southside if Mt Hood, and you’re missing out if you’re sleeping on it. Best biscuits and gravy on the mountain among lots of other tasty comfort food items!

Everything you desire in a little mountain town watering hole, colorful locals a pool table and you can order a 6 pack of blue balls (whatever that is) definitely worth stopping for a round after riding some laps at Sandy Ridge!

From Iowa and it’s 1 mile from our cabin. Would have never known to look for it if we hadn’t driven by. Great fun. Old school cool. Cheap drinks. Didn’t eat but the food looked great.

A hidden gem 🙂 We were here two weeks ago. This was our second time renting the same cabin down the road from here and we can’t say enough good things! First experience was great and so was this time. They were so welcoming and down to earth. Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Please order the club sandwich! I would drive back just for this! Thank you, Brightwood Tavern!

Stopped by with my partner in the evening after a day of hiking. Bartender was very nice, solid pours, and Rainier on tap! 10/10 for me!
