The BBQ shrimp was good. The boiled oyster was good but the sauce was amazing. She kept ordering bread to dip in the oyster sauce. The server never told us the bread was not complimentary. However the fried shrimp appetizer was delicious.
The server enter my shrimp and grits no bacon as shrimp and grits no mushroom. The person who delivered the food kept trying to deliver it anyway so one of the people who ordered the regular shrimp and grits felt forced to take it.
They then ordered me another which came out about 10 afterwards.
The server apologized for entering it wrong but made no offer of restitution.
Not exactly creole by flavor but delicious.
The experience made up for the lack of communication and price.
I would try it again once more before making a final decision if this is go place when visiting.
Service was excellent. We started with oysters dragoo annd oysters Rockefeller – they did not disappoint! Entrées included the catfish, red drum with crawfish etoufee, cavatelli, and the Crudo on their specials menu. The food was cooked to perfection and very flavorful.
For dessert, we ordered the Keylime pie and beignets which were delicious. Their Keylime pie is the best in the Triangle.
We ordered the fried NC catfish with red beans and rice, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside — easily one of the standout dishes. The gumbo was rich and comforting with great depth, and the crawfish and shrimp croquettes were balanced and flavorful with a smooth red remoulade.
For dessert, the beignets were a highlight — light, fresh, and generously dusted with powdered sugar. They even made the moment special by serving them with birthday candles, which was a really nice touch.
The atmosphere felt intimate and celebratory, making it ideal for a special occasion. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and everything came out at a relaxed, enjoyable pace.
Highly recommend Seraphine if you’re looking for a spot in Durham that’s great for celebrations, date nights, or simply a memorable meal.
We had the privilege of Hannah K. being our guide on our first visit and she was so attentive, very thorough in her description of the dishes, and just a sweet soul in general. We lacked for nothing.
I picked Seraphine for my wife’s birthday and it was fantastic! We had the Fried Okra for starters and we could have licked the plate clean. My wife had the half plate of oysters along with the Shrimp and Grits. What was amazing is that the taste of the dish was never quite the same in each bite so it wasn’t boring after the first couple of bites. There was no cheese in the dish but you definitely get the impression of cheese and grits.
I had the Cavatelli Arrabbiata and something about it spoke to my soul. I have never had this dish in any form in my entire life but it was such a comfort meal. Once again, I had to fight everything within me to not lick the bowl. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes and to see what new dishes make the menu.
The food was outstanding. We shared oysters, BBQ shrimp, a Caesar salad, and catfish with beans and rice. The seafood was extremely fresh, and the sauce on the BBQ shrimp was truly exceptional, you could really taste the depth of flavor and the white wine in it. By the end of the meal, we made a point to thank everyone again and left our server a generous tip.
Seraphine delivered both top-tier service and delicious food, turning a stressful, rushed start into a wonderful evening. We’re already planning to go back. This place is exceptional.
