Social Profile:

The story of John’s place began August 15, 1980 when newlyweds John and Jenny opened a walk up burger stand called Imperial Burgers in Bellflower, California. Their goal was simple. Work hard and serve the community with food they were proud of at everyday prices. Almost 40 years have passed and not much has changed. With several restaurants throughout Southern California and more opening planned for the future, the success of John’s Place has surpassed the founders’ original dreams. We invite you to come in, enjoy the moment and if you get lucky, you might just spot those retired newlyweds sitting at a booth smiling and greeting their customers that have become like family throughout the years!

Very similar to Farmer Boys. We weren’t greeted when we arrived and had to ask a customer that was leaving how it worked. They said you have to order at the register and then find a place to sit. It was not very busy when we arrived Sunday morning around 11:45 but it did get very busy when we left almost 1:00. I got the steak breakfast burrito and a Greek hazelnut frappe. The burrito was a good size with tender beef. The frappe had a very lite coffee hazelnut flavor. Hubby got the French toast with eggs and sausage. It was okay. We also got a piece of cheesecake to go and it was good.

This was my first time at John’s Place, and it felt like finding a time capsule from a time when authenticity came before modernity. The plants along the window are real. The lamps are real brass.

The food was usual diner fare but prepared with an impeccable attention to detail. Everything was toasted, smothered, and fried to perfection. No modern twists, no curveball, no change-up, nothing but GAS.

John’s Place radiates a promise to feed you and it delivers. Just don’t come here expecting white glove service. Figure your own life out and THEN come get a burger. This is a place for big dawgs.

This is the type of place that I break my diet for, once a year. I was ravenous after a long work day and this restaurant was right by my dermatologist’s office. I had an hour to kill before my afternoon appointment and stopped in for lunch. The menu is standard diner fare- burgers, fries, breakfast options, and a couple of salads. I ordered one of the “John’s specials” offerings, a super stuffed chicken burrito with green sauce, and half and half fries and onion rings. The food was delicious, hot and fresh, and flavorful. The meat was fresh, the veggies were crisp and juicy, the avocado was perfect. The fries and onion rings were crispy, hot and thick—- my favorite. Portions are big. I was full after a few bites and took everything home. The young man behind the counter was delightful, very polite and attentive. The decor was standard vinyl booths, plain tables, unadorned ambiance, but there is a charm to that. It was spotlessly clean, the young man who took my order was making sure all the tables were spotless, when he wasn’t helping patrons, he was spraying down and wiping up tables. The restrooms were spotlessly clean, too— the air smelled of disinfectant. Parking is plentiful and the air conditioner was powerful, a must for the insanely hot north OC days. I really enjoyed my lunch and would like to try the brunch options!

I just ate at John’s Place after having lived in La Habra for a long time and it was definitely worth it! First thing I noticed was how clean it looked and smelled. The staff was very nice and they brought the food to my table. The portions were good (I got a bacon avocado cheeseburger combo) and the food was delicious! AND, they were playing Christian music (Air 1) in the background, which made for a very peaceful atmosphere! I highly recommend this place and I will definitely come back and probably bring loved ones with me!

Local classic diner. The staff are very friendly and warm. The whole place is booth seating (a bit cramped, but I am a uh king sized man so nearly all booths are cramped for me). Only one thing stuck out to me that I didn’t like and I can’t really penalize them for if I’m being fair: they play Christian radio. Not loud, mind you, but still audible. Again, private business, private property, so again I won’t ding them for that. Just know that if you do want to eat inside, they play worship music in the restaurant. If I had known this I wouldn’t have elected to eat here. Still, for the actual restaurant bits, pretty standard local diner and classic diner fare. They seem to do a lot of take out and phone orders to go, so that’s also an option

I work within walking distance of John’s Place but rarely go there because my order usually gets screwed up and, IMO, they are overpriced.
Finding myself without both lunch and vehicle today, I decided to give them another chance.
Nothing has changed.
Got back to the office and discovered my bacon burger was missing the bacon. (at least the burger and bun were there).
Thanks for the reminder John’s Place.

The young man at the counter this morning. He was pleasant very friendly and helpful. .The lady that took my order she act like she didn’t wanna be here. I don’t understand people with attitude. They need to stay home.

The local fast casual restaurant that everyone in town goes to. They have a wide variety of items to choose from. Food is good and there’s plenty of seating, some outdoor seating too. The only downside is that the staff isn’t as pleasant as you would expect. We come here almost every week, usually get the grilled cheese, club sandwich, and the fries. Pretty crowded on the weekends.
