Great service! Food was really good, I got an omelette and it was awesome! 3 eggs and plenty of sausage, mushrooms, green pepper and pepper jack cheese also comes with toast and hash browns. I also got a biscuit and gravy, which was ok but gravy was bland. Food came quick, definitely go back again!!

Got to say, I was generally disappointed. We were seated at table 10 which is in the middle of the aisle and you feel like you are in the way.
The food has gone down in quality. The hashbrowns lacked taste. They reminded me if the ones that come in a box that have to be reconstituted. The bacon was good and the biscuit was alright. The sausage/milk gravy tasted just like the mix. Only difference was there were a few pieces of sausage in the gravy.
Overall not the best experience.

The service was great, the waitress was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy. However, the food lacked flavor. I had the Belgian waffles and it was blah, and the coffee was just OK. UPDATE: I went back today and had their special vanilla bean French toast. It was very tasty. The bacon was cooked to my likings. Not too hard, but not too soft. The eggs needed some salt and pepper but they were also cooked very well. My wife had the country fried steak breakfast meal and she said she really liked it as well. Thus, I’m changing the ratings from three stars to five. The service was great!

Darn tasty. Good fried chicken, okra. Best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had. Buttery biscuits. Note that the hamburger is heavily seasoned. I think it’s great, but my child was less than impressed.

Will note the overt Christianity, as a non-Christian, is off-putting. People can believe whatever they want, but shoving it in others’ faces is uncalled for.

I had the Patty melt. It was very good. Such a treat to eat here! My grandma loved this place and would talk so highly of this restaurant, especially their pie.

You won’t get a side of fruit here. But you will get an amazing breakfast. Food and staff are the best. Must stop if passing through Washington.

I usually have at least a couple of little flaws to share about the establishments I visit because I want to be helpful towards people traveling so they know what to expect (keeping in mind that restaurant workers sometimes have bad days, so only when it’s something pretty serious). But this place? I was totally blown away. The menu has a very flavorful end unique selection.

In going there with my family, we collectively ordered:

– Fried mushrooms, fried jalapeño macaroni and cheese bites as appetizers
– The Sweet Baby Ray’s pork chop dinner with onion rings, a biscuit, and baked apples
– For my toddler, baked beans and baked apples (very much so toddler approved, and they have a full kid’s menu!)
– Country fried chicken sandie with fried okra
– The roast beef dinner with brown gravy, a biscuit, macaroni and cheese (white cheddar I believe), and mashed potatoes with gravy.
– The Big Dipper Sandie (extra lean roast beef, horseradish sauce, American Swiss, and au jus to dip) with pickled beets and German potato salad.

Our food was very good, the service was nice, and we felt very welcomed and comfortable!

I very rarely order a steak when I go to a restaurant. I am very picky about the taste of my steak. Hardly ever does the steak meet my expectations.
I took a chance on this day and went ahead and order the steak. To my surprise the steak was excellent along with everything else I odered. Customer Service was also exceptional.

Not the most beautiful restaurant you’ve ever visited, but the food will stimulate table conversations about the kinds of food you ate— or your parents are—long ago. Go early on Sundays. The “after church” crowd loves fried chicken and when a couple at another table learned Cowan’s had run out, they were very disappointed!

The corn nuggets were good but fried cauliflower with cheese had no cheese. The fried chicken, German potato salad, chicken strip , biscuits, Mac n cheese were delicious, mash potatoes and gravy were to salty and the lies were Amazing! We will come back
