I wish I could give 6 stars, one for great food, one for warm service, one for family atmosphere, one for their integrity, one for Soledad’s singing.
That’s my favorite local restaurant. They have family style Maxican food which is very delicious and healthy. Soledad’s often sing for everyone, she is such a good singer, her singing can make stone bloom.
Anyway it’s not only a restaurant, it is a family, everyone ‘s family.

Wow! Why did I wait so long to go here?! I will now become a regular!
Delicious food, good sized portions, and very reasonable prices.
The owner and server were really nice. I sat next to some of the owner’s family members and they were so friendly… a totally unexpected bonus for my first (of many!) meals at this wonderful place!

Decent dinner experience. We read reviews ahead of time so we knew there was a strong possibility of singing. The owner has a great and powerful voice. She did two songs and greeted everyone in the restaurant. I could see how this could be a polarizing experience. It will either add or take from your experience.
As for the food, it was just okay for me. The complimentary chips and salsa were a letdown. While the chips had a great crunch it would have been nice to have them warmed up and salted a bit. We would have been tempted to try it with guacamole if the price weren’t so steep. Maybe offering different size options as I’m sure the menu was reflecting a large portion.
Drinks were good – we got the soda and fruit juice. For entrees, we had the Burro Ranchero and Enchiladas con Mole. They were cooked well and tasted good but not memorable enough that we feel the urge to return.

Wonderful! Bring your own tequila. Delicious margaritas served in an awesome mug. Food is very good. Delighted to be serenaded by Marisol- who also waited on us.
Look forward to our next visit soon!

Delicious authentic food. owned and operated by a family. we’ve never been disappointed with the food. it’s always so good and the margarita mix is So goooodddd!!! it’s byob so that’s great too. my only comment would be that the chips are always a little too hard and the atmosphere isn’t amazing. but the food is worth it !

Overall, this place is hit or miss. We have eaten pretty good food somedays and not so good one’s other days. What it is not a hit or miss is the wait time to get your food. You’d be lucky if you ever get your food in less than 1 hour since you get to the place, The owner is great and sings really well but all the singing is not so appreciated when you been in the table waiting to order food and drinks and instead, she’s singing around. Maybe if she would hire a couple of waitresses and help in the kitchen, she then can dedicate herself to oversee and singing.

My best friend took me and my hubby to have dinner at Hidalgo. My best friend did mentioned to me that this place is not fancy and high end place to eat more like humble cozy with a show (owner love to sing for customers) but the food is authentic Mexican which what I love… not Tex mex food!
So we came here last Sunday and we had a blast evening, nice welcoming from the lady (owner), great food (especially the guac and the fish wrapped with banana leaves) and an excellent voice from her singing at the end of our night before we left the place things that you won’t find anywhere in our location.
Bring your own tequila if you want to have margaritas, they’ll fix it for you. Everyone on our table they all had margaritas except me, I only had margarita without alcohol with mango flavor (my fav drink) with a super cool unique homemade mug.
By the way for parking will be have to be in the street this place doesn’t have parking lot.

Run! Don’t walk to Hidalgo for your next authentic Mexican dinner! My husband and I drove here from Delaware to meet our friends from Philadelphia and we were simply blown away. This is the best Mexican food I have had in so long! The guacamole, the fajitas, the biggest burrito I’ve ever seen and you have to try the cochinita pibil! Beyond the food, I can’t even begin to tell you how incredible the service was. Soledad was attentive, kind, funny, gave incredible recommendations from the menu and if you are really lucky she might bless you with a song or two. The most beautiful voice to end the most amazing meal and evening. I am so glad we found Hidalgo and we will absolutely be back!

Hidalgo is a great hidden gem in Media. Everything we got from the nachos with chorizo to the enchiladas were amazing. The highlight of the dishes was the molé. The staff was delightful. The owner was out telling stories and she even graced us with a song (and she has the pipes to pull it off.) We will definitely be back and hopefully regularly.

It really is a flavor from Mexico. Super welcoming! Interacted with us and my children. Food with so good. I rarely eat leftovers because the flavors do not keep sometimes and I can’t say the same about this place! Would definitely return if we’re ever in the neighborhood. Thank you again!
