Probably the best Chinese Takeout in the area. Prices are a little high but the food is really good. I had sesame chicken & boneless bbq ribs. Broccoli and Brown sauce also. Crab Rangoon was good. I uploaded photos of the menu for everyone.

This was sincerely in the top 3 best Chinese places I’ve been to in NJ. And I eat at A LOT of Asian restaurants and have very particular tastes.
None of the food was greasy or tasted unnatural. The sesame chicken was soft inside and perfectly saucy, but somehow still super crispy on the outside even after being in a to go container! No other takeout place in years has given me still crispy chicken like that. The boneless ribs, my favorite dish to order, were the PERFECT flavor, soft and tender, with crispy caramelized edges. The lo mein has fantastic flavor and thicker noodles and the most perfect sauce consistency, not dry and not slimy, just absolutely perfect. The fried rice is simple and great. The egg roll, was absolutely fantastic! Crispy and the best tasting inside, not greasy at all.
It’s strange how all of these dishes can taste so drastically different from place to place, and I’m lucky to find a single favorite dish at each place. Here, all 4 dishes I got were exactly how I like them. I wish I lived in this town so I could eat here all the time!

This was the worst Chinese food that I ever had; shrimp with eggplant. Shrimps were small and overcooked or something, they were mushy. Eggplant was so soft that I could not pick it up. After a few bites, I threw it in the trash. Egg drop soup was ok and egg rolls were less than average. This food sucks.

I have tried a great deal of Chinese food restaurants in NJ and NY and I am very disappointed in the overall quality of them all. Chinatown Gourmet Kitchen is no different. The food is tasteless, over salted over sauced, burnt at times and overall a sub par dinning experience. That being said, the restaurant was clean and the staff was nice and very fast with the food prep. Overall it’s no different than any other Chinese food restaurants in the area and I’m sure at this point everyones expectations are lowered. So if your in the mood for some greasy and poorly made Chinese food, pick your closest place and enjoy. It your in the mood for Asian style food that is actually cooked well and tastier I would find my local Thai restaurant and have a good meal at the same price point.

Very bad. Chicken was not cooked, rice had no taste. Lady who packed food had her long pony tail wiggling over the food, no hat. Worst experience ever.

I live in Garfield and go all the way to this Chinese place , because they are so clean and the food is amazing anything in Garfield that is “chinese” does not compare to this place recommend 100% to anyone having doubts.

Do not order from this place. I found a bug cooked in my food. I called the store and the lady told me to bring in the plate ( I guess she didn’t believe me). I drove back to show her so she wouldn’t think I was lying. She opens the plate, looks at it and says “sorry,” opens the cash register, hands me my money back and moves on to the next customer like nothing ever happened. Very rude. I will never go back to this disgusting place.
