The food was great especially for my expectations for Thai in the area. The spicy country style pad Thai was the standout for sure. I don’t think I would get the mango curry tho next time it wasn’t super interesting

The fresh rolls were scrumptious! The peanut sauce was smooth, creamy & the chopped peanuts were in a light sauce that was delightful. The spicy shrimp and mango salad was beautifully presented, sweet citrus flavor. The onions were sliced medium- I would have enjoyed them slivered. Plenty of julienne mangoes and the shrimp were perfect. The Basil Stir fry was delicious- we were told it was medium spicy- I couldn’t taste it, my partner did at the end – he had most of this dish. The chunks of mushrooms were the best part for me. The shrimp were also perfectly cooked. This dish was flavorful.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the area. No matter what I order, I always get the most delicious meal! It’s also a beautifully decorated space, and very relaxing. Highly recommend, can’t wait to return!

I have been ordering brown sugar since they have opened over 15 years ago and I have consistently had at least 20 percent of orders that were messed up. I just ordered and had the girl repeat order over phone to make sure it was not incorrect. I order large portion of grapple and received lunch portion that comes with rice and was charged for the large. You think common sense would tell you that if someone orders two white rice that it would be kind of weird to order the lunch size as well that comes with rice. That’s not it…for years as much as I enjoy the food (even though it has been worse over the years, another reviewer said same) the number one pet peeve with this restaurant is that it only gives half a container, if that, of the duck sauce for its sides that are never enough for what you ordered. I once asked for more and they charged me for a huge container for more than I even needed also put the less than half containers in as well. I have asked for enough duck sauce and they said I would have to order more. You would think if you wanted a tip and people to be return customers I don’t think filling the containers would sink the ship. Seriously done with this place I feel completely disrespected with my time and money all the time with how bad the service is and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant so I don’t know the excuse.

Went in for lunch on a Saturday morning.

The service here was outstanding. We were able to discuss menu with staff and after making our order food came out in a timely manner.

The Thai basil I ordered was a bit too saucy for my liking that and the taste.we’re different from what I’m used to which is why I gave a 5. We also ordered a salad but they forgot it. Didn’t make a fuss because well we got full from the other items.

I would go back to try more menu items.

Scrumptious and well prepared Thai food accompanied by a talented and jolly live Cellist player. Waters were filled to the brim nearly by the minute. Live fish tank ( :/ ) but fish look moderately well taken care.

The Thai food scene around here is pretty meh and no place personifies that more than Brown Sugar. The space is beautiful and the staff is friendly, but something about the food is just … meh. Especially for the price. We had the pad see ew and the tamarind stir fry. The veggies in the pad see ew were overcooked and the tamarind stir fry was almost all onions with just a couple of pieces of red pepper and green pepper, also overcooked. And since it didn’t come with rice, I had to make some when I get home. We have given this place a few tries and each time we’ve been underwhelmed.

We tried this restaurant because I had a Nift gift card and was definitely not disappointed. Food was excellent tasting and staff were very friendly. I should have asked to have hotter water for my tea but it wasn’t too bad at the temperature it was at when we got it. They also had someone playing piano after 6:00 pm so that was nice. I’d definitely recommend it if you like Thai food and a pleasant atmosphere. We got some pricey dishes but I think it was worth the cost.

I didn’t want my meal to end it was so good. Had the Brown Sugar Mango Curry with chicken. It was spicy, sweet and so fresh tasting. If I were to have any complaint it would be the curry does not include any rice or noodle with it, but is a separate side order. This does not take away from the high quality and great taste of the meal I had. Would not hesitate to eat there again.

When I tell you this review gives me such a heavy heart because as of 15 year patron of this establishment and a person that loves Thai food, I feel bad that I never sung their praises before. But the decline in their quality of food has just been so notable. I don’t think I can order here from anymore. Over the past year, I have gone out to the restaurant and then still order takeout hoping that it might’ve been a fluke. I do know that we are upon hard times and the cost of food has increased, so I noticed there was a big decrease in protein and vegetables, and the portion sizes had gotten a lot smaller, which I just saw as a sign of the times but some of the food it’s not even cooked it taste old. The quality isn’t even good at all tonight I ordered and I don’t even think I can finish my meal and this is someone who has been coming to this establishment for 15 years. I love this place and it hurts me to even write this review but I’m hoping that the owner sees it because I don’t know what’s going on, but your prices have increased. The quality has gone down. It’s more of just a sign of the times and I would strongly discourage Ordering from here and maybe check out other Thai food places. I spent $70 tonight on a salad and an entrée and I probably had about six pieces of chicken two green beans in my Penang curry, and then the papaya salad was traditional at all. There was a peanut sauce? Not mentioned – 2 shrimps which wasn’t even mentioned on the menu description? Not traditional? None of this is a big deal. It feels so strange to write this review, but I was so put off by my experience at brown sugar over the past year and a half the people there are lovely. This has nothing to do with anyone that works there. I just don’t understand what’s happening
