El Herradero – wow, what an outstanding spot! We came on a Saturday night and, surprisingly, were the only ones there – which made us wonder why, because everything was fantastic.
The service was phenomenal. Our server, Polo, was absolutely the best – attentive, friendly, and made the night extra fun. We started with the queso fundido with chorizo, and they even did a little tableside show with it! The chile rellenos were delicious, the molcajete was amazing, and the guacamole was perfect (didn’t even need salt). All the salsas were spot on, too.
To top it off, they had great sports on TV, and the margaritas and shots were excellent. Honestly, we wish we had come here on our very first night in town. Highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone in the area!

Food was spectacular ! Portions are generous and their Margaritas are big and very tasty. Service was great….we were so well treated. . My favourite meal in all of Cabo was here tonight. I’ll be back !!

My parents introduced me to this place over a decade ago. The food is spectacular, try a Molcajete, there are multiple choices, just be careful as the “bowl” that is delivered is piping hot!

Wonderful place, very cute and clean. The food was excellent! I had Chile relleno with cheese (queso). Superb!!! The breading was perfectly in portion not too heavy and the Chile was fresh and a bit crisp with ample cheese. Like I said THE BEST. Only down side is the view … a parking lot.

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a very long time. A coworker and I went to Herradero San José del Cabo after Paulino (our whale watch guy on the resort we stayed at) recommended it. We arrived near lunch time and we were greeted with a team of smiling faces. The restaurant had a few other patrons, but the staff made us feel like we were the only ones there. After a good laugh with our waiter Paulo, he brought us a complimentary margarita. Sure some say this is a clever way for restaurants to get you to spend more, but we already intended on spending more. A nice gesture from Paulo. We each tried a different molcajete. The corn tortillas were fresh, the meat was tender, and the cheese was aggressive (we are from Wisconsin so we wouldn’t have it any other way). We topped our meal off with several more margaritas, a lot more laughs, and the highly recommended elote ice cream (delicious).Near the end of our visit a three person band stopped for a quick table side song, very talented. Top to bottom an awesome experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great service and a really good time. If you have the pleasure of being waited on by Paulo, please show him this review. I’m hoping for two complimentary margaritas at my next visit.

We had an amazing meal experience at Herradero last night. Paulo took fantastic care of us, and our meals and drinks were superb. For years, we have come to this restaurant occasionally and I always thoroughly enjoy the Chiles Rellenos. This time, we started with Passionfruit margaritas, and had the Molcajete Herradero and Filete de Pescado Rellano de Mariscos. We also tried the Sopa de Mariscos, and that soup probably had the best broth I have ever tasted. It was one of those restaurant events where everything was flawless. Thank you, Paulo and everyone at Herradero San Jose del Cabo. See you again soon!

Excellent food and even better service! You have to try the molcajete entree, it’s their signature dish and a truly delicious local dish. Not to mention fantastic margaritas!

We were staying a block or two away and unfortunately didn’t go here until our last day, that was a mistake! We went for breakfast and it was excellent! Huge portions, fresh ingredients, plentiful coffee refills and amazing service. Would highly recommend!
