We decided to stop in here for dinner one Friday night on our date night. As a couple, Mexican food and margaritas has been a tradition for us. This place far exceeded our expectations! Good atmosphere, everything like new. Half the area is like a quiet sports bar-watched knife and ax throwing. I had the Alhambra which featured fajta-cuts of meat and pineapple. Enough for 2 people for less than $14. Like eating a meat-lovers pizza with a hint of Mexican spice!

• Thin crispy hot chips
• Biggest chile relleno ever, didn’t know poblano peppers can even grow that big. Mild heat and loaded with Chihuahua cheese. Sauce just right, not too hot
• They MAKE the tamales. That’s why they have more meat than most. Many another place, they’re mostly masa. Heat level pleasantly warm, not fiery hot.
• These people work hard. We’d forgotten what great prices they have. Not too often that the best place is the cheapest, but it’s pretty much true here.

I’ve been there when it was very busy as well as the only family in there. Each time the service was great, and the food was a touch more spicy than I like, but it is Mexican, so it was expected, and I was still able to enjoy it. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but the inside does give off a nice enjoyable dining experience.

We live on west side of lake. Took day trip and found Manuels. This is by far the BEST Mexican food we have ever eaten. From chips and dip to entrees, all was superb! Wish we lived closer!
