Quaint French cafe chain serving rustic country fare, espresso & fresh-baked baguettes.

Was served a small Salad to accompany my Quiche Lorraine. As you can see from photos the quality is poor. You should never be served lettuce that is spoiled! The amount is about a third of the salad. The quiche was delicious, however having to pick through the salad ruins the whole experience of eating!
Would give the Quiche 4 stars, however the spoiled rotten lettuce brings my rating to 2 stars.

Usually my husband and I get pastries to go but today we decided stay and try the breakfast. Food was delicious. Service is always excellent.

This place could be so much better with just a little more intention. I ordered a crepe from here that was crispy, similar to the consistency of phyllo dough. I had whip cream that was the consistency of paste. The service was great and it is in a nice location. Hate leaving bad reviews but hoping they can make some small changes because it could really be a great establishment.

Food is as good as La Madeleine always is.
Staff is often very rude — given multiple visits now. Also, the turnaround time on orders is very, very slow. Just please be a little more polite and friendly!
Tables are also often covered with piles of dirty dishes as the staff don’t bus and there is no clear way for customers to do so. As I’m wrapping up my meal, there are at least seven table tops that have had dirty dishes sitting for 30 minutes. It’s extremely unappetizing.

French patisserie, the croissants are really good! The coffee machine was not working and for us the coffee is the most important part of the breakfast. The strawberry waffle had a weird cream inside. For my perspective, it is an average place to eat.

I recently visited here was a charming and enchanting establishment that immediately caught my eye with its inviting aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries. As a lover of all things French cuisine, I was excited to sample the delectable treats that this bakery had to offer. I settled on a classic croissant and a pain au chocolat. The croissant was perfectly flaky and buttery, with just the right amount of crunch. The pain au chocolat was equally delicious, with rich, gooey chocolate oozing out from its layers of delicate pastry. My recommendation is French onion soup topnoch. Highly recommended.

When I first found out there was à la Madeline near my house I was excited. I used ton frequent the one in Bethesda. I come here about once a week for a latte and treat. The first time I came in things were running smoothly. Every time since then when I come in around 8:30, there is a line of people that builds up behind me because something is not out out that should have been out since the place opens at 7am. At times there latte machine has been out too. The front is understaffed with only one person in the front when there should be two. Whether I order ahead or in person it is always the same. It should not take 20 minutes to get pastries and a latte.

The quality is not as good as before. We had the best one in Rockville, years ago with best soup and salad. Need to work on quality. More dressing on salad, serve the salad cold!! .. and more creamy mushroom soup!
No bread on the side of soups anymore!
I asked for bread, they said they do not have today!
The mushroom soup was not delicious as used to be; the Caesar salad dis not have any dressing on it even though I asked for more dressing when I places order. The lettuce was warm!!

This was my first time going to the Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg, MD. It was a very nice area.
La Madeleine is off a made street and easy to spot. If you cannot find street parking, there is parking in the rear of the restaurant.
I took my daughter here for brunch. You order your food at the counter and take a number to place on your table. The young lady that took our order was very nice.
We both ordered the Country French Breakfast, which consisted of two eggs cooked-to-order (we chose scrambled), Potato Galette, bacon or sausage (we got bacon) and a butter croissant.
The chef brought our food out to the table and said bon appetit. Which was pretty cool since we were in a French restaurant.
The food was delicious. The eggs were flavorful. It was my first time having a Potato Galette. It was like jazzed up hash browns or a latke. The bacon was cooked crispy like I like it and the croissant was buttery and soft.
I highly recommend this location.
