I have eaten at Urban Eats a few times and Wow! The food has always been excellent, good service, reasonably priced. And Jessica does a great job of decorating. A very nice, upscale, quiet, relaxing atmosphere for a friend’s or ladies day out luncheon. Jessica stops by to chat and be sure you are well taken care of. I wish we had a place like this in my town and I wish I lived in Dewitt. I would be a regular diner. If you have not been there grab some friends and head out. Great shopping n Dewitt. A winery just up the road a ways. But don’t miss out. Urban Eats is fantastic. Fun, friendly and delicious!

Great atmosphere. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Food was fresh and delicious. Coloring pages and markers for our kids. Checked out the bakery section and was given some desserts to try on the house and they were also delicious. We will be back.

Service was slow. I think one of the owners(?) spent a great deal of time on customers she knew. Another couple was seated after us and served before us. I had the rueben which was OK but meat was cold. It was on pannini bread which made for a decent size sandwich but nothing as a side, not even a mini bag of chips. Chairs are a bit uncomfortable. Not a place to linger. Figured it’d take way too long to get ticket, so just went up front without it. Lady was still doting on people she knew as she checked us out. Won’t be going back any time soon. Too bad because it could really be a great place.

While the food we had was really good and the interaction that we had with one of the employees was very off putting. Upon arrival we were able to find a table right away and asked what drinks we would like right away. My two kids had a positive interactions with who I would assume was one of the owners or a family member of the owner. At one point of time, he snuck my kids a broken cookie and told them they can eat it before the food came and not to tell his wife!
Where we sat and the chair I sat in you could only look towards the front dining area if you looked elsewhere, it would seem like you were staring at other people. As we were still waiting for our food, I was looking straight ahead just minding my own business and talking to my children, one of the employees (who I would assume is the owners daughter or family member of the owner due to the resemblance) looked at me and said “what is it that you are waiting for?” If she didn’t have the tone I would have thought she genuinely cared but her tone did not come off that way. But my response was “just our food we ordered.” I completely understand that they had been slammed after we came in but I’m still a customer and if we were done, we would have gone to the register to pay and left.
A couple minutes after getting our food, I told my kids to just eat quickly as they were closing in 30 minutes. I never felt so rush eating before at a restaurant but we were. Before I was done eating the daughter/one of the employees asked what we had so she can close out. Once told, she came back and said, “it looks like you have a cookie too so you can just pay for it upfront”. At this point of time I was already feelings rushed and off put by this employee that I just said “yes we will pay for it when we go up to pay for our meals”.
I would have loved it to give this local, family owned small business a great review as my salad was delicious, my son’s sandwich was really good, and my daughter’s soup and bread smelled amazing but unfortunately one employee can ruin a customers experience.
This was only our second time coming in and I know my business won’t matter to them but not sure if we will be back anytime soon.

Amazing, I had the soup (loaded baked potato) and the chic salad sandwich. Brewed ice tea is amazing too! This is a great business/all employees are super kind and willing to explain fan favorites, and anything that can be homemade is homemade. I literally wanted one of everything. Good prices too. For sure will be back!

Fantastic food, atmosphere is perfect. You walk in order, and they make it right in front of you. Simple menu for lunch, that is exactly what I want to see for a lunch menu. I had the pulled pork sandwich. Tender, and very flavorful. I got to talk to owner and the Chef, Sam Voss. Very friendly and made me feel like I was at home. I will be back with my family for a weekend dinner to try the prime rib.

We stopped on our way through to Davenport and it was amazing!! The prices are great, fresh and portion sizes are incredible. I had the Cobb salad with the clam/crab soup. Husband had the chicken and dumpling soup with powerhouse salad. Wish I could give more then 5 stars!

Went in during the lunch hour. Be careful during the lunch rush and other busy times when the staff feels rushed with lines out the door. The staff was great, but there was no attention to detail on allergens and cross contamination.
Take your time with your orders. The manager was rushing everybody. She was clearly putting too much stress on her employees. I will not be going back until they start paying actual attenton to allergens. It was a nightmare for people like me with tree nut allergies. Pesto comes from pine nuts. Not sure the staff even knew that. It was tucked into a full paragraph with the other ingredients on the Panini. No asterisks or anything.
There needs to be annotations and notes on the menus. And the staff needs better leadershis so they can stay on the ball. The bathroom situation was also a disaster. One room for the whole place in Dewitt, IA. The fruit bar dessert was excellent, but that’s my only compliment for how the place is managed.

I really wanted to hate this place but I couldn’t. By far the best sub sandwich I’ve ever had. I even had to get the dressing so I can try and make them at home. Wife said her salad was fantastic. All hand picked, local produce and meat. Homemade dressings and soups.
