I lived in Chicago my entire life. Moved to Fox River Grove last May 2025. I have only been to Dead End about 5 times. I really like it. The pizza is fantastic. It’s as good as any I ever had in Chicago. The service is very good and friendly. The customers are also friendly and aren’t afraid to converse with you. I didn’t go there last summer but looking forward to it this year.

I ordered a cheese burger from dead end a few weeks ago, it was the most delicious burger ever. I was craving it for weeks and so I ordered from there again yesterday and sadly had a totally different experience.
My burger was way to raw, my husband ordered a steak sandwich which was also to raw. The meat was purple when he bit into it and came with absolutely no toppings. Just meat on bread. Nothing like that online menu description.
We called, and the lady said we should have specified we wanted toppings. This is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. She did offer to make us toppings but we were unable to drive back there.

Our favorite tiny hidden gem! Best chili, best fries, really great menu. Love the prices and the river bar feel. Very cozy. We have been coming here for decades!

I went here on my off day. As many of my customers have raved about the food. I looked here on Google for the menu and pictures of food. I decided on the BBQ Italian beef sandwich with Cajun Homemade Chips. As I thought I was done placing my order with what a regular called him Sexy bartender. I believe his name was Wilbur. Then, on a board by kitchen, I see CHEESECAKE! So, I added a piece of Pistacho Cheesecake. My Italian knows no bounds.
The food was as good as I heard! The beef was harty and tasty. The homemade chips are amazing. Though my customers tell me try the Garlic. Next vist, I may get both. The cheesecake was very delicious.
The atmosphere was great. I was met warmly by a wonderful lady, Sherry and Sexy Wilbur. I was happy to see they have Leinenkugel. My next girls’ night out. I’m coming here! In summer, you can pull upon your boat. And has outside seating along the river. Inside good beer,good food, Sexy Wibur(sometimes), & and gambling.

Dead End is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Sherry/Wilbur is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing pizza. Must come back. 10/10.

This place isn’t bad, Italian beef was good, wings are good but I had ordered a hot dog and that was just gross. I tried picking it up and the bun fell apart. It looked like the hot dog had been in the microwave too long and it was all crispy burnt. No hot dog should ever look like this however the service was great, she seemed sympathetic and gave us some money back so we can’t be too upset about it.

This is a nice dive bar! There is boat and car access, dope staff and the food is awesome for the price! Fun games outside you can play also inside as well, while you wait for food or drinks
