We stopped by Plant Cakes Bake Shop this morning as a family. Having food allergies that we deal with, this place is amazing. We drove about an hour to visit the shop and it was worth it. We tried their donuts and cupcakes and all were very good but everyone agreed the donuts were excellent. Also as someone who has to be gluten free, it was going above and beyond in how they have an entirely separate case for the items that are gluten free. For those who have a true gluten allergy, this is a place for you.
One of the owners helped us during our visit and even though they seemed pretty busy, she still took the time to speak with us and answer our questions and was very friendly. She was even very careful to change gloves before handling the gluten free items. We will be back!

This incredible place blew us away! We tried their cupcakes, donuts, and muffins, and each one was absolutely delicious. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive. We brought home a box of cupcakes and donuts. They stayed fresh and flavorful for days. It’s clear that they use high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend supporting this amazing small business!

I am incredibly grateful for all the gluten-free options this little shop offers. It makes for a happy and very normal childhood for my gluten-sensitive two-year-old. Everything is delicious, and very carefully crafted. We’ll live coming back here for as long as they’re around. ❤️

Amazing vegan/gluten free bake shop. Please don’t eat all the cinnamon rolls in the morning before I can get one! The donuts and cinnamon rolls are so good! They make these with the right amount of sweetness to pair great with a coffee. My new favorite morning stop that I didn’t know that I needed in my life.
They also have ice cream/birthday cakes and I’ll be sure to grab one in the near future!

They offer vegetarian baked goods. Gluten-free options are available. Drinks are vegetarian. Drinks don’t taste as good as I’d like. They rotate some item offerings, to give variety. Chocolate chip donuts are the best.

Absolutely Delicious! I had a Bar Mitzvah for my grandson with all kosher food, and since we could not mix milk and meat, we needed a cake that had no dairy or animal products. So, this was not a party of vegan guests, and they had no idea that all the desserts were vegan, but everyone at the party raved about how good everything was! 5 stars would not even be enough for quality and flavor, but I gave 4 rather than 5 stars because I spent A LOT of money for a two tiered cake and 8 dozen cupcakes and they were given to me to drive in a flimsy open box that had no way of holding the cake in place. (They were unable to deliver, so they were aware that I was driving from Wake Forest to Garner) ) There was nothing sturdy, not even a plate underneath, or solid steady way to keep the cake from sliding all over…I had to keep pulling over to reassemble the cake, smooth out the icing and stick the strawberries back on because there was no way to move even very very slowly without the cake getting damaged. In the end, I would definity shop at Plant Based Cakes again, but I would be weary of purchasing any cakes super large or fragile for transporting.

This is a very good bakery. Everything they bake is dairy free, they also have gluten free options. We came here today because my wife recently learned she need to be dory and gluten free. I had a raspberry and lemon muffin which was delicious. My wife got the gluten free chocolate cup cake with chocolate butter cream frosting. The cupcake was good and I don’t believe I would have known it was dairy/gluten free had I not been there when she bought it. If you have dietary needs I would recommend this place. The owners were very nice/ accommodating as well.

Dude….an all Vegan bakery, right in my town?! Their cupcakes, muffins, donuts, cakes, etc…are all fantastic. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve had anything here I don’t like. Also, having a huge Gluten Free selection is amazing, especially since if have 2 people in my family that have allergies. I can’t recommend this shop highly enough. They absolutely rock!

On my way to Charlotte, I added Plantcake Bakeshop as a pitstop. I was super excited because who doesn’t want to visit a dessert bar that has many different gf offerings. I walked in super excited after driving 3 hours and wasn’t acknowledged until I spoke but that’s okay.
I started ordering and towards the end of filling my box I asked if they preferred the cookies or brownies. They said both as they were the best sellers and fan favorites. I wished this was something that was expressed to me in the beginning, friendlier service and recommendations. 2 hours later I arrived at my hotel and tried everything from my box. The cookie was so good and I wished I bought more. The muffins were okay and the donuts/cupcake had an odd aftertaste. Overall the $30 wasn’t quite worth it but if I was around the area I’d come back to stock up on the cookies and try a brownie.

My wife and I drove 30 minutes this morning for a treat at Plant Cakes Bake Shop. The donuts and service were excellent as usual. When we returned to my truck, it wouldn’t start so we called AAA for assistance. The tow came, identified the issue as a dead battery, but they didn’t have jumper cables or a charge to get us started. I returned to the shop to ask if anyone had jumper cables, and the entire staff eagerly jumped into action. One staff member hurried to her vehicle for a charge and cables, and that got us back on the road. These are the types of high-initiative, family-owned, family-staffed businesses we should all go out of our way to support!
