Great little spot my friend and I found while in Texas! The appetizers were really great! I had the egg rolls and the fried pot stickers! They made a special soup for me upon request. The vegetables were over cooked into the soup, but it still meant a lot that they made it for me! The atmosphere was awesome and I enjoyed the the guitarist named Guy. He played some good relaxing songs while we ate. The service was excellent and I was extremely satisfied overall! Definitely recommend this place!

Service is amazing. Food is almost authentic. We tried veggie dumplings, they were amazing. Also tried chicken herb fried rice and pad see ew, both were on salty side but textures and tenderness were great. I think they used a little too much soy sauce or something that made the food taste more salty. But overall great experience.

A nice hole in the wall Thai place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Service was quick and orders were out promptly. The food was good, but not the best Thai we’ve ever had. However, the prices were so good, portions were large and servers were attentive. A great experience overall.

While living in Southeast Asia, I visited Thailand several times throughout the 2010s. Khao Soi is my favorite Thai dish, and it’s really hard to find one that’s anywhere as good as the ones you get in Chiang Mai. I can easily say that Thai Star has the best that I’ve had outside of northern Thailand!

The rest of their menu also has very authentic flavors, very similar to what you’d find on the other side of the world. The service has also been very friendly and attentice over the course of many meals at Thai Star.

We loved the food at Thai Star Addison. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. Thanks Sue and Alphonso! The ambience is relaxed and cozy. We tried the sweet & sour chicken and the wok-tossed cashew stir fry. So delicious! We also shared a fantastic ice cream & pastry dessert; mango sorbet, drizzled with coconut cream served on a fried roti pastry. Just perfect. Can’t wait to go back.

Thai Star is one of those great little places that is tucked away and hard to find, but once you do find it you’re glad you did! It’s located at the far end of a strip of restaurants and bars, farthest from Midway road. It’s a tiny, cozy restaurant with charming decor. The service is stellar, it was almost too attentive, if that’s possible. The meal arrived quickly and hot, the ingredients tasted very fresh, the sauces were flavorful and not overly salty. I ordered #2 out of 5 on the heat level and my husband ordered #3, I could just barely taste heat on my husband’s dish and none on mine, so their use of heat is very conservative. If you love spicy, I would say go for at least a 4. There is an acoustic guitar player on the weekend. One thing I have never liked at this restaurant is the big TV mounted by the door. When I go out to eat, whether for dinner or lunch, I want to pay full attention to the food and who I’m with and I find a TV very distracting. Leave those things for the sports bars.

The restaurant is small-sized and very cozy to dine in. I ordered Tom Yum, Seafood Combo with White Jasmine rice, and sticky rice and mangos. For Tom Yum and Seafood Combo, I ordered the spice level as 3 out of 5; I was surprised that this did not taste spicy at all, because Thai food is notorious for their spiciness. I dug into the Tom Yum and saw they were using generic red pepper flakes and not Thai peppers. The Tom Yum was quite delicious and plentiful. However, I was not satisfied with the seafood combo. It was a bit grainy and there were barely any seafood pieces in it. The panang curry wasn’t flavorful and it was too thick for my liking. The sticky rice was overly steamed and had no flavor, the mango was not ripe, and the sauce was too thick.

We love that we can customize our dishes as well.

I went here with a large group for lunch. The restaurant was a little difficult to find with construction on Midway, but I ended up finding it after circling around. There were about 9 of us present. The day we were present, the restaurant was nearly full so I was surprised we didn’t have to wait too long. We were all able to be seated together and we had two employees come take care of us. The service was quite nice for our group and they were quite friendly. Our group ordered a variety of dishes. Even though I usually get some sort of curry when I go for Thai, I wanted to try a few different items. I ended up ordering some Vegetarian Thai Star Dumplings, Steamed Potstickers, and Thai Kai.

Our water was filled often. After we were served, an employee (I assume the manager) came by to ask how everything was and if we needed anything else. We did end up asking for some chili oil, which wasn’t really spicy. I mixed a lot of it with the soy sauce to make the dumplings and potstickers tastier to no avail. Either way, I still enjoyed the dumplings (4/5) and potstickers (4/5). I had that Thai Kai for the first time, and I wasn’t too big of a fan. The mango sorbet didn’t taste very good and there were a lot of ice crystals present. Next time I come here, I’ll try the curries because they looked quite good and filling. I do recommend trying this place out!
