Stopped into The Loose Screw today to get some work done and ended up really enjoying the atmosphere. I had a glass of their Cabernet, which was excellent, and the WiFi made it easy to work for a while without interruption.

The service was great my server was friendly and attentive and the music set the perfect tone with a mix of 90’s and early 2000’s hits. There’s a fantastic selection of beers and wines, and the decor adds a lot of character with the wall of posters and laid-back vibe.

Many options, craft beer, local and international, ciders, meads, domestic, wine, seltzers (Happy Dad) and even liquid death. Tons of options, they just need a pool table in the back.

It’s a perfect spot whether you’re catching up on work, meeting friends, or just relaxing with a drink. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the Taylor area.

What an awesome place! This is a family owned and run business with a great vibe and decor. The beer selections are many and diverse . Guests are welcome to bring in their own food. Dogs are welcome.
On our first visit we just grabbed one drink, but we can’t wait to visit again..
This place is located in a building that is a cool as the Loose Screw. It’s an old High School that is converted to shops, a tattoo parlor, hairdresser shop, game room, yoga studio, and more. There are food trucks at the edge of the lawn, too .

Was visiting from the DFW area and was blown away by this place. very cool venue located in a classroom of the old Taylor High school. Great vibe in the bar and outside on the patio. The bartender was extremely friendly and helpful. The beer list is extremely well thought out and curated with some of Texas’ best craft breweries. They also had insane pulls from the likes of Monkish and WeldWerks. This will blow away any expectations you’ve got when it comes to a craft beer bar in Taylor, TX let alone anywhere.

Went again, but this time with my own 128oz growler. Bummed they charged me for the number of pints that makes up. Most places charge less for a growler refill.

Total chill place with counter, tables, couches, etc. Great variety of beers on tap. Love having dogs so it’s the place for me!

Fantastic beer selection in a unique business environment. By that I mean pretty darn cool. In a converted classroom of a historical high school that has been turned into a business center.

The staff here is very friendly, ready to offer recommendations.

Place is clean and well kept.

You can sit outside and order through a window. There was live music outside with ample seating. Lots of people were taking advantage of the food truck park a one minute walk away.

Located inside the old high school. What a great way for the city to repurpose an old building.

Craft fare outside (alternating weekends), food trucks, and other little shops inside. Random live music, too.

Bar has large windows open to to outside seating or air conditioned seating inside. Inside there is a small stage and separate seating area with couches and comfy chairs.

They don’t brew their own drinks but have plenty to choose from, including Mead, Sours, Hard Kombucha, Root Beer, Wine, and Seltzer.

Not as social as other places but nice to sit and people watch.

Fun location for a great variety of drinks. Friendly staff and a welcoming setting of bar seats, tables, and couches across two rooms. We enjoyed a beer from local brewery Texas get company.
In the old Taylor high, it’s steps away from other bars and stores. There’s a free parking lot with several adjacent businesses and it’s within an easy walk to plowman’s kitchen restaurant.

The Loose Screw Craft Bar is simply an AWESOME bar. It’s located inside the former Taylor High School, in Taylor, Texas. The building was bought by someone that had the fantastic vision to turn the former high school into a mall. They left the student lockers, the signs… but now, there is a really cool bar in it.

The owner is a really cool guy. He treated our family and friends as if we were old time friends.

There is another section of the bar with couches, pillows, television, nice lighting. You can hang out and drink from the vast selection of crafted beers, and YES, they also have wine. I had a grape fruit beer, and it was delicious!

The bar has a small stage for live music. It also has an window that allows you to buy your drinks from the mall’s outside patio. There is a large patio with plenty of seating under the trees. There are also food trucks available on a second patio.

I am a bit afraid that after this review everyone will flock to this bar, making it harder for me to buy my favorite beer, and to find some seating. But, it would be a disservice not to tell everyone. The Loose Screw is a treasure of a place. Go, you won’t be disappointed!

“The Loose Screw: A Must-Visit Local Spot with Incredible Atmosphere”

The Loose Screw is hands down my favorite local bar, and for good reason! Tucked inside an old high school, this place has an incredibly unique and cool vibe that sets it apart from any other bar in town. The history and character of the building really shine through, making it a one-of-a-kind spot to relax and have a great time.

What makes The Loose Screw truly special, though, are the owners, Don and Tammy. They are some of the most welcoming and friendly people you’ll ever meet. Whether it’s your first visit or you’re a regular, they treat everyone like family and go out of their way to make sure you have a fantastic experience.

The bar itself is always buzzing with energy, thanks in part to the stage they have, which hosts live music and a variety of events. It’s the perfect place to catch local talent, listen to great tunes, or even participate in some fun themed events. There’s always something happening at The Loose Screw, which keeps things fresh and exciting.

The drink selection is top-notch, with a range of craft beers, there is something for everyone’s taste. The atmosphere is laid-back but lively, and you can tell the community really rallies around this place. It’s a great spot to grab a drink with friends, enjoy some live music, and just soak in the warm, welcoming environment.

If you’re looking for a fun night out with a personal touch, The Loose Screw is the place to be. Don and Tammy have created something truly special here, and every visit feels like a memorable experience. Highly recommend checking it out—once you do, you’ll keep coming back!
