Don’t sleep on this place. Special occasion or just an enjoyable dinner it’s worth the trip.
You won’t ever forget this dining experience.
Braised veal was delicious.
Latugga (caesar salad)
Burrata
Branzino (sea bass with veggies)
Filettino di Manzo (filet with mashed potatoes)
Spaghetti al Tartufo Nero (truffle cacio pepe; extra $20 to add to your meal)
Cafe Cioccolato (chocolate cake)
Limone Pavlova
They also start with an amuse bouche of hummus.
I was blown away by the pavlova. I have not been able to stop thinking about it since I ate it. It was sweet, tart, soft, crunchy, fruity and light. It was a masterpiece. The crunchy pavlova added amazing texture with a scoop of cold lemon sorbet and the lovely fruit mixture. This dessert is probably the best dessert I’ve had in my life, including desserts from Michelin restaurants. It’s probably not for everyone, but I thought it was perfect.
All the other dishes were solid. I ordered the Caesar salad, but wish I ordered my husband’s burrata instead. It was surrounded by beautifully fresh tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinegar. It wasn’t your typical heavy burrata with bread. It was fresh, like a garden. The mains were solid but I’m definitely not as obsessed with them. I think the branzino would do better over a risotto with larger vegetables, but it was still cooked well.
I plan to come back just for the pavlova… but I would be happy to come back to enjoy a a full meal again 🙂
Parking is a little hard around the downtown area but valet is available.
They do have a dress code for their main dinning are but if you sit in the bar area they do not requiere a dress code.
The service was phenomenal!! My waiter was so attentive and had many suggestions and knowledgeable. I started off with their margarita made with Socorro tequila it was strong so watch out if you order this drink. For appetizer I had the octopus it was so flavorful the sauce underneath it brought the plate together. I was not a fan of the pasta that the octopus was on top of. They also brought out bread and hummus and to me the bread they serve with the hummus doesn’t pair well. For my main course I had their famous truffle pasta with chicken. The pasta was 10/10 taste espectacular. The chicken had a weird taste to me almost like if they had boiled it then added spices to it. For my second drink I had the campfire it was a drink made with vodka. I can’t quite remember what it was made with exactly but it was smooth not overly sweet either. For dessert I had the chocolate cake. It wasn’t as moist as I thought it would be but the raspberries and strawberries pair with it just right.
Potente became one of my favorite restaurants after this experience. I definitely recommend you to go try it. If you watch “The Bear” the service they provide is what to expect at this place.
