I don’t know where the quality of service went with dairy Queen in Eleanor but let me tell you they lost it a long time ago and it just continues to get worse.. This has been happening for a long time but it just continues to get worse. If I could give it negative stars I would. (Unless you’re lucky enough to have the younger girls working they can make a ice cream cone and seem to take pride in their work.) And the dark haired lady at the window… If she would smile, her face would crack.

Close to the Fair grounds & swimming pool park! Great for kids of all ages. Drive thru is close to the main road so be safe pulling off. Very quaint location with a great outdoor picnic area! No inside dining. We had a great blizzard & service was quick. We love supporting lil local businesses & this location is super close to Winfield-Teays Valley Area. Less time to wait as well. I assume there are walk ups available as well! We will be back!

In 1978, when I was little (5 years old), the high school girls who worked here used to write fun, flirty messages on the wrapper of my hot dogs (“You’re sooo cute!”, “Would you be my boyfriend?”, “Call me!” etc.). I went to middle school next door and every single day after football, basketball, track practices I would go here and eat and hang out with friends and play arcade games… this is where my mom would pick me up, she would give me extra money on case any kid on the team was hungry and couldn’t afford to buy food. Barry Clendenin’s family owned this and lived in the house right behind it… I injured my finger (pulled out of socket) and he put it back in socket right there in this DQ (he was a few years older than me). Lots of great memories here.

This DQ was very important to Eleanor back in the day, there wasn’t much here then. I stopped in on my last visit to WV and the dining room was permanently closed, I feel this building needs to be torn down and rebuilt, it is an icon of years gone by in Eleanor.

This Dairy Queen is “drive-thru” only!
However, there is an outside dining area with picnic tables and shade. If you are like me and enjoy being outside, this is the place for you!
So far, I have tried the mini corn dogs, fish sandwich and vanilla shake. The food was hot and good, but I haven’t visited any other Dairy Queen lately and have nothing to compare it to. I do know that 20 years ago this place was a popping and probably still is for school kids and teenagers, the local hang out.

I use to go inside alot, but since covid happened, they closed the dining area. I hardly go there now, sure they have a drive threw, but it’s a tight squeeze. Nice friendly workers. Now, you can go inside, 12/2/2025

Great family owned businesses.

I remember going here as a kid & many of my friends worked here growing up.

I’m so happy to see it standing the rest of time.

My only complaint is that DQ being a chain you would think certain things would be the same at every DQ especially there signiture cones ..there large cones are like a medium compared to all the other DQ’S around the area like Scott Depot and other Charleston, Huntington suburbs and even right across the river in Galipolois. Because me and my girlfriend do a lot of traveling around the local area and go there alot and live in Leon WV and all the other DQ’S large cones are so much bigger and im talking the cone itself and of course more ice cream for basically the same price which may vary from place to place like 30-40 cents but my point being is Elenor DQ get with the program and obviously get with the standard large cones ..and the one young girl maybe 20 years old wears glasses always has a smile and makes the best cones ..thank you! The one old lady that always works the window i give 2 thumbs down always grumpy never a smile and makes you feel like shes doing you a favor needs a little attitude adjustment. And she’s been there 21 years and still can’t make a ice cream cone worth a crap .. and to tell you the truth theres not much of a difference than there medium compared to the large .. honestly go to Scott Depot you get way more for your money and friendlier service!

31 dollars i wasted here since I ordered a footlong combo that was cold and had nasty meat, a BBQ that was also cold and 2 chicken fry combos that were warm. Teach employees to drop food correctly and I won’t lose my money on nasty food my dog didn’t even want. In their defense I was the only one in line at 450 or so and its hard to have an entire crew cook 4 things. Next time I’ll light my money on fire since that would atleast be hot but thanks for nothing you lazy workers who stole money from me. I took a photo of my hotdog for help but its not even cooked since I can’t break it with my hands so I honestly avoided food poisoning or worse. Please shut down and hope nobody dies eating from these horrible workers and manager.
